Just One Knife

Man, I love my TGLB (especially now with it's custom clip point), and my GW is an awesome little blade--but--I have yet to put this one down... I use it every chance I get:

Hell Razor, stripped and ready for action--so far its split kindling, made feather sticks, and pulled lots of BBQ/ fire pit, and kitchen duty...

Looks like a slightly modified ASH-1..... Very nice!

For me it's the regulator, I carry a knife as a weapon not for survival. So the regulator is always on me and will be the 1 I take everywhere.

Another vote for the TGLB, perfect size and design IMHO.

It has been my favorite knife I have ever seen or used.

For one knife I would take the MOABM.... Two miles in I would wish for my tg crusader. I don't know that I could narrow it down to 1. Maybe one sheath with three knives on it.... Would that fly?

When it comes to backpacking, I'm a mule. While I'll freely admit, the furthest I've gone in a single day is 18 miles (in the CO Rockies), weight doesn't really matter to me. I'd rather have an item with me, and be comfortable while I'm sleeping, than nitpick what I'm carrying to save 20 pounds. An 85# pack is nothing to me.

My choice would be the NMFSH. Chops well, good edge geometry, and comfortable. Yes, heavy though. Unless absolutely limited to a single knife for some reason, I'd also have a smaller blade in SR-101 like a Swamp Warden or Rodent 3. I'd also probably have a ~4" folding knife too, unless I'd lost it for some bizzarre reason like TEOTWAWKI.

Baby Butaniku, 13asic 13, INFI necker, and I cannot ever leave the house without my trusty TGLB! Oh darn....only one choice.....I can't take just one.

.22 ASH-1 for me, it can do the big and little jobs and the weight on your belt is hardly noticeable. Works hard, plays hard.

Comp finish TGLB for me :D My brother is STILL trying to get me to give it to him. No way!

It all depends on the place you will be in as well. If you are hiking and packing in the desert, a big knife is pretty much useless except as a weapon. I would just carry a small knife. In the jungle, a machete style blade is supreme. In Northern forests a small forest axe or large heavy blade are preferred. So it really comes down to where you will be. But in all these scenarios, a large blade can act as a short machete, a small axe and a small knife. So it is the one tool that can cover all scenarios.

I'm with Cobalt here... If it were the desert south west where I live, I'd grab my B-8 or DSF. If it were a jungle, my 1311 or my Rucki. If it's Washington State forest, NMFBM or NMFSH.
