Just One Knife

...
My choice would be the NMFSH. Chops well, good edge geometry, and comfortable...

I have thought on this for a while and it's a tough one for me because I have always been a fan of a medium sized knife coupled with a hawk or axe. Like my hg55 and shrike. I dint own one yet but I think I'd go with NMFSH for one blade to cover all the bases

I just got a Mean Street LTD 20th anniversary. I really love it. I live in Texas, San Antonio, so the knife laws are insane here. The MS fills the bill as far as blade length (for a fixed blade). I have a SAR4 but it is a bit heavy. I am almost afraid of the next Busse knife I get; I am hooked and looking for a bigger blade, with the SAR8 being my largest so far.. I am hooked on them and the INFI steel (I have 4 so far, with no end in sight). The really nice aspect Busse knives is that the are reasonably priced if you get them from the shop when they come out and then retain or increase in value! This helps keep my wife in a positive frame amount about the money I spend on my collection. One decision I made is that it is only going to be Busse from now on, no spydies/benchemade/ect.I would probably carry a bigger knife if I could legally but I am severely restricted here in SA, TX, so the MS is my choice ATM. I don't think it will let me down.
I got a bit off the track there, sorry, I really like the MS. I like the combo of the Gransfors Bruks Swedish Carving axe with the MS, but If I could only carry one of the items It would probably be the SAR8.

Hmm TG for me :)

It does all the necessary tasks around the campsite and even some chopping if I need to. Although I am eyeing up that SOB for its lighter weight but waiting for the BIG finish to come out.

Well, I only have one Bussekin currently, sooo.... RUCKI!!!!

Big blades can do many small jobs, as they say, but I feel like I'd have a tough time filleting a fish with the Rucki (unless it's a Tuna!).

Try to chop through 8 - 12 inch logs with a small knife. I did this in very short order with an SHBM.

12-14" log. No problem

Say Heah Guys. Yeah. I love my A.S.H.B.M. LE, I also got the N.M.F.S.H. I have both knives paired with my INFIMANDU'S which I was lucky to buy two, This way I can pair my Son of Badger with my Sarge 7, Its my Lite Carry and add my A.M.S. LE to either pair, I agree it's fun chopping with a nice suze quality chopper, but I still like using my hatchet for processing firewood, I like to Axe Tap all the way down to kindling, I think it just makes short work of it, I really didn't need another hatvhet, But I got a great deal on the Hultafors Bruks 17" Agdor range Hatchet it's right in between the 14" and 2 inch and I can still on person carry it if I want to, and I can use it with two hands and it's small enough to use it with one too.

Those could have grown up to be some big Gators. Legal or not, I get slightly offended every time I see gators killed in the wild. I use to live in Florida and developed a big appreciation for gators and crocs.

I agree, but that was Ron Hood in the Amazon and those are Caymans

I like the old school Kydex with those early BM's. My early LE came with a very similar sheath.

I can't wait to get the Battle Saw. This could become the one. I have to get it in hand, but it has real potential.

yeah, all of the original SHBM's came with a variation of that sheath. They were very good sheaths.

In descending order.

1) For quick and light hiking or kayaking the Infi SS5. Been thinking about getting a floating lanyard for this one.

2) For a basic one knife hiking/camping solution it's hard to beat the round butt Tank Buster. I got this knife specifically with your type of scenario in mind. However it is a bit heavy and I've been hunting for a Skinny Ash to maybe lighten the load a bit.

3) Last is the perfect CGFBM! This is the shit hits the fan, I won't be going home, Mad Max dystopian future is on the horizon, ect, knife,...... or if I happen to be driving and weight is not an issue.
