I wanna make meat man. Maybe some of you have seen this before. Put a pork loin or shoulder in a pair of old jeans. Then try to slice through it. I was thinking a broom stick skeleton with different cuts of meat underneath clothing. Maybe a watermelon for its head. Then just go crazy on it. A horde of meat zombies would be fun to battle.

I guarantee you, your neighbors will stop asking to borrow your leaf blower

Also interested in seeing what you think of for scabbards on these!

I was able to see a bunch in process at the shop visit and am not worried about variances.

Currently have two styles planned, a secure transport case and a traditional (meaning my style) scabbard with a unique carry system. I already bought a bunch of components so hopefully it works :)

One of the great parts of going to the Outlaw Cut at CPK's compound was that I got to see a number of folks who don't wear or pack their sheaths, I think a cool carry case is in order.

Yeah, these really turned out really well. After the difficulties with the K18, I was afraid doing a long skinny blade like this with our heat treat process but we did some development work with Peters with the fixturing and have developed a process for keeping these straight.

Machining the K18 was a real bear, fixturing a complex multi-sided piece like this and getting everything just right is tricky.

I really exceeded my own expectations on this one. It's such a relief these turned out so well, I'm very proud of our accomplishment with this one. Some of our finest work.
Great that you're getting your big blade processes dialed in. When should we expect the K30?

congrats to the owners:) I wish I’d had been on the Carothers train when these were made available. I might have bought 2. Those ecam scales are awesome!
As they're getting them made with little wastage, I'd imagine there will be some extras going at some point.

Nathan originally said they had material for 145, but I think they went over the 100 order limit. So if they took 110-120 pre-orders (you can count them from the original thread if so inclined), there could be up to 30 left over.

A carry case is a great idea! Count me in.

What do you mean by 'case,' Chad? Like a saya case... or like an Otterbox case?
Probably like this case.

Think more like a Mare's Leg rifle case, designed for safe storage and transport over body carry. It will stand alone as a scabbard and not require the sword to be already sheathed.

Hope that helps paint a picture.

So something like a kendo sword bag with an integral sheath or blade protector?
