I really just meant do menial labor to work for KA-BAR, not necessarily clean up turds just to work in Olean, NY.

I will be on the east coast later this summer for an entire year, maybe longer. I would love to make the trip up. But I won't make the drive just to look at the building from the outside. Can I have bigghoss's invitation please? :D

In other conversation: I was watching "World War Z" on Netflix last night and I thought at one point I saw a KA-BAR Kukri. It was the scene where the protagonist and his Israeli cohort are climbing into the plane and as the come through the hatch, the pilot disarms the soldier by pulling the kukri out of its sheath strapped on her back. I did not rewind to find out if I saw what I thought I saw.

You want my Taco Bell coupons too?

Just picked up a new Ka-Bar yesterday, the 6" filet knife as a gift to my best friend. Also picked up a BK-2 for a buddy to throw in his GHB. I also picked up a new BK-11.

My newest Kabar is a Western 1929-1931 contract knife.... I think. Gotta get it in and then compare it with line-drawings in a book. Kabar is supposed to have made the first Western fixed blades starting in 1929. Western started making their own in 1930-1931ish.

Took down a tree today with the kukri machete. A small tree but stilla real tree, not a sapling. This was a lot of tree. I big tree. A big-small tree.

No pics of the work but may go out soon with a tape measure and snap a diameter pic. As well as the aftermath. Though most of the sectioning was done with a saw..

Hey guys! So is the phat bob dead and gone or just taking a break from production? It was on my list of "one of these days" knives and now I'm looking but not finding.

This is my first post, so please bear with me. I recently saw what appeared to be a vintage 2 blade pocket knife (model 1047) that had "Kabar" on both the handle and the tang stamp. Did KA-BAR knives mark their earlier pocket knives this way or is this a wanna be KA-BAR? Also, do you know of a site where I can find specs on that model. Thanks.

If the Ka-Bar stamp on the "handle" is on the shield in the handle scale and it is stamped on the tang then yes that is normal.

The Phat Bob is no more. That was a really great knife, the sales just never materialized. That is my go to knife when I am wearing suits. If you find one, my recommendation would be to buy it.

-OKB
