I'm on it Moose. They are far too nice to keep clean. They are made to be used and use them I am.

We must see visual proof of those knives being used. Photos, etc. Otherwise, we'll have to send the Kabar burrowing stealth gnomes over and re-possess them.

:D ;)

Here's mine: regular #1217 C/U and a Dozier KBD1.

For the level of hard use my #1217 has taken, it looks surprisingly good.

The middle knife is a Kabar BK-13 Remora, the first fixed blade I got my son, after completing his first year as a Boy Scout. (Top and bottom are Camillus-made Beckers.)

Glad I am not the only one that has ground off the back side of the finger gaurd. Makes the knife alot better for woods use I think.

Makes it a WHOLE lot better, it's my favorite woods knife now. Did the same for my boy's Cold Steel (yeah I know) GI Tanto. Not a bad knife for woods work now either

Ka-bar short black fighter. Custom “Kar-bar” job by Florida knife maker, John H Davis. Note: they aren’t kidding when they say the short Ka-bar fighter’s handle is small. I have smallish hands, and this handle even feels tiny to me. That aside, great knife, even better with the Kar-bar mod…

HoRy CRAP!! O.o I want me one of those!! Does this man or someone around here do that often?

Stripped heavy bowie, that finish wasn't too bad but it only stayed on it for about 3 hours. That's sand blasted but I polished it up to a 240 grit and convexed the edge, removed the toog handle too. No more pics until I make the alternate handle, looking now for suitable handle material, and I need to figure out how to make a nice guard that still implements the partial finger choil. I plan to make it a simple matter of removing a bolt to switch between handles.

I got to spend a little time in Yellowstone playing today. I'm really becoming shocked by the coating on the FU. It wears like iron.
