Keith Johnson Knives

I like the unique lanyard attachment in post 497

My KR Johnson knife (small LC) just had its one-year birthday on the 25th. It has been getting extra pocket-time for that, even though it gets a lot already. Does anyone else track their knives birthdays?

LC.........Mammoth ivory, CPM 154 CM, pivot bushing, integral 416 fluted bolsters. 3 7/8" closed. Already owned.

Outstanding Keith.
Does that one have kind of a half sunk joint? Hard to tell from the angle of the picture.

Thank you. Yes, the joint is half sunk.

Perfect compromise since a full sunk joint would leave the joint too narrow and weak looking for the pattern (IMHO), and the full width joint looks strong but leaves a very pronounced Run up when closed.
I'm sure that half-sunk joint makes a huge difference in the pocket.

I've been wanting to get a custom barlow made for a while and Keith agreed to make one patterned after a barlow that Tony Bose made a while back. This will make a great Christmas present to myself.

The bolster will actually have my initials on it, but Keith had taken these pictures before he got the stencil.

What a great present! That looks very nice - and unmistakably Keith's work! The oversized bolsters will look good with your initials on I'm sure.

Keith's work is so sano with attention to every detail. One of the best in the business.

That's one hell of a Christmas gift. I'm making sure to send you my Christmas list next year as you know how to do it right.

My Lanny's clip is turning two this month. I thought I'd show a picture from Keith when it was newly made and a picture or two more more recent times. This knife has been carried virtually every single day and is the best daily work knife I've ever had or could hope to have. The acid etch on the blade is pretty neat, as certain angles it shows the wear marks and at other angles it looks pristine.
