Nice looking stockman! And if Elliott was picking it up constantly, it had some magic for sure! I'd expect nothing less from Ken!
I hold these modern custom/traditionals, and sit them next to 40 - 80 year old knives of similar pattern, and wonder how they will age. Well cared for, with these modern materials, patinas of age will be much more subtle, and the knives will last through many more "uses/cuts" than the older ones. I say that because of the tough steels and near indestructable handle materials.
As long as they are oiled regularly, our great, great grandchildren may inherit these things, and marvel at the skill of the "old-time" makers! Wow!
Leads me to think makers should do those kids-to-be a favor, and stamp a date on the inside!!
Idle musings aside;
Here's one of Ken's that I purchased from a reluctant denizen of these parts (he was raising money for another Erickson!).
A tough useful pattern, impeccably made as usual!
It may have appeared here before, but with a different background. It's not mine until I scan it with that dingy old yellow backdrop.
Thanks Ken, for the usual great work, and Mr. Nasty for letting it go my way!
