Shamefully, I still have no guesses. I'll have to stop calling myself a fixed blade guyWhat? Nobody guessed what this LilPunkh is fashioned after? DubyaTeeEff?![]()
Shamefully, I still have no guesses. I'll have to stop calling myself a fixed blade guy. Not many 4" patterns out there - are you gonna enlighten us Kerry? If not, maybe mail it to me for closer inspection?
We I'll beOk, summer is done. Fall is almost done. Golf is not quite done BUT it's time to get busy and make some knife dust. The first one off the bench this building season is a little 3 3/8" WilfredWorks Barlow. The WW bolster stamp is used by permission of the CC&BW/MFIC of WilfredWorks, Reese Bose. The saw cut bone is from a friend of mine up North of here....I mean way, way NorthThe blade and spring is stainless 154CM.
Nice to see another generation in the Barlow Saga!! Beautiful pictures also!!waynorth
The knife world is large geographically, but people wise it is fairly small. We keep running into each other! And that makes knife collecting even more interesting and satisfying. We are an interconnected community. This Barlow illustrates the point. Because of Tony, who designed the pattern, I met Kerry, who created the bolster stamp for Wilfred Works, which Reese kindly allowed us to use. As an added and unexpected bonus, the scales came from Charliewaynorth , and were made by my favorite factory, Great Eastern. So, this knife has connections to Indiana, Pennsylvania, British Columbia, and now, Louisiana where I live. And the people I mentioned are some of the most interesting, talented, and kind people I have ever had the privilege of getting to know.

We all have knifemaker-friends, and I think one asked if I could get parts from GEC! My influence was over-rated by many, waynorth , Thank you Charlie. Would you mind telling the story behind the sawcut bone scales Bill Howard gave to you? Were they extras from a SFO? What name did he give to the color? Did Tony use them on the Barlows that he made for you or any others?
The subject has come up a few times, Greg!! Maybe some day . . . . . . . . . .Thank you Charlie, waynorth . You have known so many of the great figures in traditional pocket knives, and you have so many stories. Have you considered writing a book, or at least a collection of stories? “Knife Tales from Way North.”.
