Kershaw 1595 G10 Tactical Speed Bump New Model Bump?

I'm also surprised that there's no reviews on amazon yet for this blade. Guess that translates into more knives for folks in the know.

I have not posted for quite a while because I was distracted by flashlights and guns. I have recently started to purchase more knives because I use a Kershaw JYD every day. I've carried it for about the last 3 years for work and rotate it on weekends with my other knives.
My question is that I recently tried to purchase the Speed Bump 1595 on Amazon and it would not ship it to Hawaii for some reason. Does anyone know why we can purchase other Kershaw knives sent to Hawaii but not this one?

this model is an assisted opening knife. Assisted opening is illegal in some zip codes. That's my guess.

tobotech, here in Hawaii you can buy Kershaw assisted opening knives at the local gun shop and Wal Mart. So it could be a mistake on Amazons part to restrict shipping to Hawaii.

Just got mine in and I think I found a new favorite edc. Its lighter than I was thinking and because of its shape I dont even notice it in my pocket. So far my ONLY complaint is the pocket clip. The design of the clip isnt as far out as some other Kershaw clips I've seen. The scales are smooth enough it wont rip up a pocket like a Blur but it is a little tight. All in all though its a great folder and really glad I was able to get in on them. Outstanding value for a USA made knife by what I feel is an excellent company.

hmm. 2nd guess- maybe because it is labeled as tactical?

Hawaii Case Law:
- "'Other deadly or dangerous weapon' is limited to
instruments whose sole design and purpose is to inflict
bodily injury or death... A 'diver's knife' is neither a
'dangerous weapon' nor a 'dagger'. 'Deadly and dangerous
weapon' is one designed primarily as a weapon or diverted
from normal use and prepared for combat
... Cane,
butterfly, and kitchen knives are not deadly or dangerous
weapons... Sheathed sword cane and wooden knuckles with
shark's teeth were 'deadly or dangerous weapons..."

Been playing with it for over a week now, I really like it. Here you go:
Leek for persective, since just about everybody probably has one.

Since you all when and bought 1, or 2, or 3. I had to order 2 of them. Went for the free 2 day shipping so I can get it before the weekend camping trip. I didnt plan on spending money I dont have today, but you guys convinced me. I cant wait to get this thing, looks awesome.

Unfortunately I'm a little disappointed with mine. About a half inch or so of blade before the flipper didn't get sharpened. Not sure if it's supposed to be that way or not, but I highly doubt it is. Also the stud lock is pretty sticky on mine, and the clip will definitely need some work to even be functional. And the opening action is a lot slower than I figured it would be.

I just got mine. Yes the clip sucks. And it does open slower than my Chinese Kershaws. I think it's worth forty bucks though. I kinda wish I would have ordered two.

The action seems to be getting better with use so far. We'll see if the lock smooths out as well. Still a bit peeved about the blade not being sharpened near the flipper though.

I received my second knife today. The action on this knife is very smooth like all my other Bumps. I guess the sticky action is only on some of these knives.

I played around with mine a bit more, the lock seems to getting in a bind if I try to use just my index finger to release the lock. If I use my thumb the lock will slide straight forward and not bind, but this feels a bit awkward.

Are these locks press fitted together? I'm thinking if they were just if the studs were a bit closed to the blade it might not twist and get into a bind.

I've tried it with both of mine and I can comfortably close both of them with one hand and my second one is back in the box and up for safe keeping. And as far as opening speed goes they arent much slower if any at all than my other speedsafe knives. Even if it is a little slower I can say it is smoother when it opens than a few of my others.

And as others have said about the clip, after a few days attempting to carry it, it is almost useless with jeans. Does anyone have any suggestions/ideas on modifying it?

^Vice, small hammer, and little movements. In my experience if you rebend a clip, but just pushing/bending it, it tends to break. But using a smaller hammer to tap it over, usually doesn't break it. This one is a pain to rebend because you have to change two bends.
