Kershaw 1595 G10 Tactical Speed Bump New Model Bump?

Got mine yesterday....an under-priced bargain,comparable to the Skyline,IMO.
As silky-smooth as my Black Spec.
And maybe factory-sharper....

Thinking it's worth a trip to STR, for one of his lowrider Ti clips.
Tip-down + a usable lowrider clip would double the value (and pocket time),I think.
And likely a visit to Jeff 4bush,to turn the black part into Blaze Orange.

Hmmm.

Would you mind posting some pics of your clip (I'm assuming you modded it since you said it was a pain so if I misunderstand I apologize) for the sake of a noobie modder? I've never actually attempted a mod of any kind to a knife. I may try taking a clip off of another knife I have I dont mind messing up before I make adjustments to this one.

Thanks Geoguy_Dave for the heads up on these. Been in the knife game for about 10 years but have yet to get me a Kershaw until now. It will also be my first assisted opening knife as well as first with the Stud Lock. Looking forward to its arrival

Mine got here yesterday afternoon. What a bargain!

Here are some pics.

Compared the clip to the one on my 1596SW and they're the same. The G10 is missing the palm swell so the clip rides flatter.

Put the clip in my vise and tweaked it a little bit. Here's how it came out. Not too much different, but a little better.

Anyone have any idea?

I don't think so, I think they are one piece. They are inserted through the hole in the blade before the spring, the black retainer and ball bearing are put in place.
You could try smoothing and polishing the faces of the frame that studs lock against. Check and make sure there isn't any G10 overhanging there causing it to bind.

I've lost track, but I have at least 14 stud lock knives and I haven't had any I couldn't unlock just using my thumb.

Actually, I've been sitting here opening and closing a Speed Bump and if anything, using my index finger to close it seems incredibly awkward and a bit more dangerous than using my thumb. I have to shift my grip pretty drastically and my fingers stay in the way of the blade when using my index finger. If I use my thumb, my index finger can stay behind the flipper keeping the blade under control, my fingers can then roll the handle of the knife toward my thumb (getting out of the way of the blade at the same time) and my thumb can then finish closing the knife. It is a very fluid and controlled action that way. With my index finger, the blade flips almost halfway closed when it unlocks.

well...this seems like a sweet deal, despite the pocket clip issues...for 40 bucks, I can't really complain. I just ordered mine and this will be my first Kershaw! I've been looking at the Spec/Speed Bump for a while so I'm really happy to have found this thread. Honestly, I don't really need this knife, but it seemed too good to pass up. Thanks to Kershaw for making this product available. I'll post pics up when I get it.

I like the flag style better, more patriotic IMO. But I will make due with whatever shows up Tuesday.

Ordered mine earlier, looks way better in the posted pics, as opposed to amazon.

My first bump, couldn't be more excited

Probably one of the better knife deals I've been privy to since starting this hobby. Thanks to those who posted for the heads up!

Looking forward to Thursday when this arrives.

Mine arrived today, finally. The free shipping is nice but takes forever. Mine came in a huge flag box. I don't know what box this might have been for, but it looks like they might have covered some "China" printing with a "made in USA" sticker.

Thanks for the box review.. but what about the knife? :D

A lot of them are like that. I wouldn't worry about it too much, I'm sure they use that size box for some of their larger Chinese made knifes (ex Tremor).

My Boa came in a box with a Made in USA sticker over the China part as well.

Duuude, I can see what all the fuss was about over these. I got it this morning and put it with my other Kershaws in my knife drawer for Meet & Greet. I then noticed something... I paid as much for this knife as I paid for my 2nd Orange Zing. Sweet. :D

Knife? What knife, all I got was a box. It's a Kershaw, what more needs to be said other than it's perfect. :) I did notice the AO is a little slower than my old Speed Bump when I first got it, but today it's a little quicker. Maybe that's due to the bit of oil I added and a slight tweak of the pivot, not to mention the half hour or so of opening and unlocking I did after I got it.

got mine today... very solid lockup, great looking piece, fit & finish is great. No backspacer issue...it is pretty flush with the liners and scales. I got mine in the red box fwiw. the stud lock was alittle sticky to begin with, but after some breaking in today, it opens very smoothly and closes easily with one hand, no problems at all. Overall, this is a steal at 40 dollars! i just wish there was a tip up carry option. This is my first Kershaw, and it's only natural that it was a Ken Onion design, his designs really speak to me, very aesthetically pleasing but totally functional as well. (i want a damascus shallot) Great ergos too! I just wonder what the idea was with the clip...why only tip down? there must be some reason for this. idk...maybe not lol
