Kershaw Cryo?

I adjusted my pre-order with Kershawguy from 3 Cryo to 2 Cryo and 2 CryoII. I can't wait either! I keep wondering how much pocket time it will get.

May I ask how you completed a pre-order on his website? I don't see the option, and putting "cryo" into his search engine doesn't return anything.

thanks,

-matt

Cryo II, eh? Anyone know if it is releasing alongside the smaller version? If so, I'm ditching my original preorder and waiting for a source for the larger one.

wow i didnt know there was a cyroII ... can someone point me in the right direction to pre order one of those?

c'mon with the delivery!

can you point me in the direction where i can contact this "kershawguy" and order a larger one as well? im fairly new and have no idea who this user is lol

Your answers are on this page, posts #282, 283 and 285.

Ok,

I'm late to the party, I know. I just found out about the Cryo.

I pre-ordered today from GPKnives. On their website it lists the handle material as 8Cr13MoV. In the video on page 6 of this thread Mike said the handle material was 410? (at 1:42)

Did he mis-speak or is GPKnives website wrong.

I don't know if anyone else caught it and it was mentioned before. I skimmed this thread and didn't see anything.

Anyone care to confirm the handle material?

It's certainly 410 judging both by the cost and by previous Kershaw steel framelocks. It would be kind of pointless to use 8cr13mov for the handle really.

The Cryo to my knowledge does in fact uses 8cr13mov [with Ti carbo nitride coating] as their handle material, unless I read KAI's info wrong. They do have knives with 410 steel frames.

Amazon's listing 8Cr13Mov for the handle too.

From Amazon;

Product Features
Steel: 8Cr13MoV, Titanium carbo-nitrade coating
Handle: 8Cr13MoV, Titanium carbo-nitride coating
Blade Length: 2 3/4 inches; Closed Length: 3 3/4 inches
Tip up or tip down pocket clip
Speed safe and flipper opening systems; Frame lock locking system

No need to check other sites when you could just go to the KAI site and look at the catalog for the info :p

Well that is the obvious answer. I downloaded the 2012 catalog and it says;

STEEL 8CR13MOV, TITANIUM CARBO-NITRIDE COATING
HANDLE 8CR13MOV, TITANIUM CARBO-NITRIDE COATING

So I guess Mike mis-spoke. Sorry for any confusion.

Oh, and the Cryo II is listed on a popular knife sellers website. I'm not sure if I can say which one so I won't.
