No, he actually meant to say exactly what he did say, using the casual construction of colloquial speech. "Correct" is an interesting term, but in the linguistic sense it can only apply to formal discourse.
Notice too that Tostig is a Californian, not a Canadian. Some solecisms are taken more seriously in certain areas than in others.
I bought a Kershaw Blur 1670S30V with a Made in the USA stamp on the blade.......the rockwell hardness is 53 on the "c" scale.....that's not saying much for heat treating qualities in MHO. Is this common in all their S30V blades?
Ahh..fun thread all around, from our overseas products to S30V RC issue.I bought a Kershaw Blur 1670S30V with a Made in the USA stamp on the blade.......the rockwell hardness is 53 on the "c" scale.....that's not saying much for heat treating qualities in MHO. OK, just got back from the shop and after tearing it down completely and checking the hardness next to the thumb screw, it read 58RC (average 3 readings). So I stand corrected and apologize for the mistake. You are right as to checking on a flat surface .
Charley
58RC is within specs. The W&R people would have taken care of you if there was a problem. They go out of their way to make people happy. Other companies could do well to copy Kershaw's service.
Glad your knife was more than 53Rc though. Joe
Yeah, 53 just didn't sound right. Not from Kershaw.
Glad it got sorted out.
