Kershaw starting Sprint Runs!

Yeah, I got a confirmation shortly after I placed the order.

I order at 3pm eastern time and never received a confirmation email. So not sure if it went through

No confirmation email and no shipping notice. I do see it in my order history on the Kai site.

What's up with the extra little logo on the back side of the blade near the edge?

. . . I have to admit to liking blackwash-type finishes. Smooth coated black blades look like hell when they get that first scratch, and then fine after they've got fifty scratches. Coated (for the style choice) and then stonewashed, though, then you can scratch them up and it's really nowhere near as noticeable.

I agree. A blackwashed Real Steel Receptor found its way into my EDC rotation last year. Spending time with it has really opened my eyes to the value of a good blackwash. I've also come to appreciate a good stonewash on naked steel.

Well, this certainly was a predictable sprint. I just picked up a bareknuckle for $65, so I'm not going to get one of these, but this seems like it's offering decent value. Hopefully they step up their M390 heat treatment for these sprints.

I remember seeing a lot of controversy over M390 heat treatments in "budget" knives. For the price, I don't know what we should expect from Kershaw's M390. It might not be M390 at its best but how does it stack up against other blade steels in this price range?

I've had an M390 Dividend for over a year now. The factory edge is still nice and sharp but to be fair, it has only seen light use. It took over as my shirt/vest/breast-pocket carry. The times and places I'm carrying it, I tend to have less cutting tasks and/or a larger, more ergonomic cutting tool within arm's reach. (A.k.a. the top desk drawer in the office of a knife guy.) The Bareknuckle would fill a different EDC role and I expect it would see a lot more action.

I’ve seen four RC tests on Kershaw’s with M390. One in the mid 59’s, one at 60, and two at 61 (the last three are knives that LuvThemKnives had tested). Thats really not half bad for m390 on a mass produced knife, especially at the price.

I was eagerly awaiting the release of the Bareknuckle (for what seemed like a long time), but when it came out I didn't think it was worth the price, so I never got one. Plus I don't like aluminum handles. Carbon fibre and M390 though, that's worth the $130 to me. So I ordered one.

Actually, since I missed out on the Leek, I ordered 2. I figure if I don't like it I can always sell it and recoup my costs, or at least trade it.

EDIT: I did get a confirmation email. No shipping alert, but it's midnight, duh.

That's pretty in line with other production m390 knives it seems. I know the 20cv on my blackout Bareknuckle is excellent in use, hopefully the m390 is at least equal in its treatment.

They're putting that on all the original Kershaw designs now.

I got my shipping confirmation not long after I got my order confirmation. I can't wait for this. This is going to be the perfect Bareknuckle!
Great :(. At least it's there instead of "M390" being on the blade twice

I just got one. Don't have anything in M390 and this is a good relatively inexpensive start. Also don't have anything in total CF, two birds with one stone.

Kershaw? Sprint runs? LOL

not sure what’s so funny about kershaw making sprint . That’s the only way spyderco is making money these days sprint and exclusive. So why not kershaw real carbon Fiber handles M390 steel for $130 I’ll take that .

Been interested in the Bareknuckle so I picked up one.

Never seem to get in on sprint runs before they are instantly sold out. So that added some motivation as well.
