Kershaw Steven Seagal - hmm...

in any case Seagal got from Ken Onion such a KILLER knife, I believe delivered in Vegas... at least his taste in knife is good!

Judge the knife on the knife not on the signature of the guy otherwise we should all quit buying knives made by Mick Strider or Ernie Emerson both of whom also have questionable back grounds.

I'm not aware of anything less than honorable that Ernie has ever done! Care to elaborate on your statement?

Best wishes,

It doesnt take "typing training" to not post with all caps. I assume you attended, and possibly passed- elementary school?

Posting with the caps lock on just makes you look like an imbecile.

Who was posting "obvious liberal views" on Seagal? What does that even mean?

I don't give a crap about Seagal, or his washed up movie career. I personally have a preference for blades that don't have silly crap splashed across them.
If I liked the knife, I wouldn't care if there was Seagal's signature on the blade- But it would have to be small and unobtrusive, and not anywhere on the main part of the blade.

Don't Pay Attention To Him, Rat. It Is Probably None Other Than Mr. Seagal Himself, Here To Defend His Career.:D

Best Wishes,
3G

P.S. If you can't reason with them, write like them.:D

A Cop who found little need for typing? Already I'm skeptical.

Careful there: You know what they say about "assume," Rat ;)

Actually, he hasn't the caps-lock on. If he had caps-lock on, HIS POSTS WOULD BE IN ALL CAPS--LIKE THIS. What he's doing is purposefully Capitalizing The First Letter Of Each Word--which takes more effort and is slower than normal capitalization. I suspect it's an affectation, designed to impress or draw attention.

I have been known, on Some Occasions, to Capitalize Certain Words And Phrases, just for grins or When The Mood Strikes. Actually, doing that was very common a couple hundred years ago. I have no idea what the rules for the practice were, tho. Maybe it was for emphasis? In any event: Capitalizing Every Word seems to make little sense.

I tend to just skip the guy's posts. Much like those with really tortured syntax, lack of punctuation, an absence of paragraph breaks, etc., I find them too difficult to read to expend the effort. *shrug*

This is Bladeforums, not Martial Art Forums. Own any knives? Have anything to add to the discussion on this topic?

Opinions are like taxes - everyone has got them. Good luck with changing people's minds about Steven Segal. I can see having a lot of sway when the Topic here is the Stephen Segal KNIFE and you keep trying to derail the subject to Stephen Segal the person. He is an ACTOR with martial art training. He isn't the 2nd coming. Did anyone bother to read the link in my last post, RE: his involvement with the mafia?

Personally, I wouldn't want to own anything with Stephan Segal's name on it. Not his knife, nor his energy drink. The same extends to Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, Arnold Schwartzenegger, Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris...any Hollywood ACTOR. The same way I wouldn't own a Harley Davidson knife, or a commemorative Franklin Mint (or whomever) knife. I buy a blade for the blade and promoting the blade manufacturer, not for advertising or promoting another company/individual.

3G,
personally have no knowledge of either Mr Emerson or Mr Strider. I only look at the internet and knife community rumors in which claims have been made that both individuals have been somewhat over exagerating on elements concerning past periods of their life and what they have done. Is this really fair considering that I know niether of these men personally? Of course it's not fair it's rumor mongering and gossip which is exactly what people here were doing with Seagall. My comments about Chuck Norris however were mostly true and verifiable. He is old and he does die his hair. I seriously doubt he does many roundhouse kicks these days though.

Black Tiger,
This is not an insult or personal attack.
You're free to type in any manner that you like, but honestly, your posts are very difficult to read in their current form.

If you want to take part in forum discussions, and have other members actually read what you have to say, you might want to alter your method.

Otherwise, folks like myself will simply ignore your posts.

As for the knife:
I agree with those who don't like the signature on the knife.
In fact, I really don't want any name or writing on my blades.

As for Segal:
Some of his earlier movies were alright.
But most of his newer stuff is'nt very good--but the same can be said of many older actors when they try to play the strong tough ass-kick'n hero of the movie.

Allen.

No, I have tested it- The software does that to posts that are made in all caps. It doesnt do it if you quote, or write most of the post legibly. Test it out if you want- without quoting anything, turn on the caps lock and go nuts. ;)

It's so refreshing to find one individual who actually catches on to why I write the way I do!!!! It's to stress the attention and emphasis!!!! Thank you EDCeeker!!! Now lastly, I will state once again that I jumped into this forum yesterday because actually I was surfing the web for new knives to buy, and ran across this forum bashing Seagal....so, I jumped in and added my two-cents...hey, it's a free country!!!! I mean, what's a good discussion without a little resistance??? Now lastly, before I leave this forum for good....I will say to my kind friend, Rat, that actually I graduated top in my class with honors...with high praise on linguistics (4 languages)...I made Sgt. in under a year, and was head of an anti-gang task force, dealing with MS-13, Bloods and Crips. So, like EDCeeker said....you shouldn't assume. Also, at 17, I owned and operated two martial arts gyms. What have you accomplished in your 27 years??? And, yes, when you're a Sgt. , you have the option to delegate authority down to lower rank to handle all reports...which were first hand-written, and then passed down to clerks who would TYPE them up. Ever work in a real department, Rat?

Bravo, Mr. Fife. You have the ability to read a user profile and attempt to turn it against me. :jerkit:

And look- you actually posted without the caps lock. Nice job.

Here is a vital piece of information you might not have known- The people who always go around trying to talk themselves up are usually the last people you would choose to associate with. I don't give a crap what you say you have accomplished, whether it is just a lie or your ego talking. You just are seeking attention, and that is even more pathetic when you try to drag me down to your level.

Good luck with that, don’t let the door hit your trolling Barney Fife buttocks as you leave.

I'd like to add to this that while I don't enjoy collector knives; I don't fault companies that do. If Kershaw manufactured nothing BUT collector knives, my opinion of their company would change. My post was not meant to compare Kershaw to the Franklin Mint.

However, having only 1 such knife in their lineup doesn't affect my opinion of their other knives, and I am a big Kershaw fan.

I just couldn't leave without replying to Deadhead Archer's last post. I think you're missing the point!!! When you're talking about a knife co-designed by and branded with a particular person's name....you have no choice, when the knife is "put-down" for the simple fact that Seagal's name is on it, but to either defend the man or agree with the majority about him. Hey, if you don't like a knife with writing on the blade...that's fine...you have that right!! But, I'm merely saying that it's a little unfair to judge the knife just because of a name on it!!! Own it or not...the knife is a great design...boasting a 5 inch AUS-8A assisted opening blade, genuine stingray leather inlay, and a reversible pocket clip. As a knife...it's got my vote simply because I own many Kershaw blades and I'm sure Ken Onion isn't going to begin to let me down!!!

No, the blade length is 3 5/8".

I thought you said you have handled this knife?

Hey Rat,
Did I strike a nerve??? Hate cops?....had many run-ins with the law? Your comments are indicative of those who hate authority figures!!! Also, do you always accuse everyone who has surpassed your achievements in life as liars???!!! Later days, Rat :jerkit:
