Just to be downright evil here, did you have the first prototype with the blue anodize and uncoated blade? I would show them side by side and see which one is the winnerShowed one around the show today. Lot's of positive vibes comments came its way.
The original proto's we're left in pieces once R&D got through with them, and are unfortunately beyond revival. The black coated blade sort of ruined it for me. I've had one pre-ordered a long time and I suppose I'll not cancel, but the black blade? Yuck.:barf: Just cheapens the look in comparison, to what I thought I was getting.

"The force is strong with this one."
Well, I personally care less about looks and more about scuff resistance(scuffed titanium bugs the hell out of me), though I get the feeling that DLC coating and my sharpening skills aren't going to get along too well. Still, the coating has an interesting effect when cutting, almost like a non-stick coating on my frying pans. My only real concern about the knife is whether or not those thumbstuds are going to complicate sharpening.I agree with this...Sort of. I don't think it totally ruined it for me. I think it makes it look like a much less expensive knife. However, like how its all blacked out now. If it was a coated blade and blue handles, I would probably re-sell it once i recieved mine. I would love to get my hands on one of those proto blades to put in mine!....Thomas? haha

The Tilt is ba...end of story.
All you coated nay-sayers, just go send yours out for a stonewash!
I'm totally with all matte black.
Nope, if there was a problem with the metal so much so that Kershaw wanted to put a coating on then it will stay that way on mine.
I don't think there was a problem as much as there was an aesthetics issue with them.
You have no idea how absolfreakinlutely unBALIEVABLE that looks! I like it even more in the Jet black!
