Kevin John Knife

unless this knife would be made by artist hands or not - this fellow lost his reputation and screws anyones serious collectors or users excitement with all these Clones and Fakes.
Should catch a job at alienexpress or how they call and return to the galaxy they came from.....

looks like somebody should be struck in the face and banned on general principal *spoiler* not kevin john

I never really understood why somebody with the skill to make a knife like that would want to waste his talent by ripping off other designs?
Good question. For all we know, he/she/it does make other designs for folks whose names we're all familiar with. You might have one in your pocket right now and not even know it.

There is no knifemaker named Kevin John.

It's a wonderful western name the Chinese give their clones to make them sound authentic.

This was done for their own domestic market, but like everything else, it's filtered over here...

Please prove me wrong.....you can't.

All the more reason to buy no knives made in China. When you do you're supporting the factories that make the clones. Even if they are branded with name brands.

Sounds like cutting off your nose to spite your face, especially as knives coming out of China just keep getting better and better. (Kizer?) But to each his own.

I thought it was just a typical western name that was chosen by a counterfeiter to make their knives sound more legitimate?

You thought right.

Yep, and I think the OP(Rennd) may be the only one to think there is an actual "Kevin John".

Rennd, do you really think there is a person named "Kevin John" making these ?

Escalated? Not really. If anything, this is one of the more civil conversations I've seen regarding clones.

The only thing we know for sure about Kevin John is that we don't know anything for sure about Kevin John. But it's pretty clear that the knives being produced under the Kevin John banner didn't just fall off the old turnip truck. They appear to be well made . . . in some cases, extremely well made. So it's reasonable to assume that they're being produced in a professional facility of some sort. Beyond that, we're just shooting in the dark.

I once knew a Kevin who happened, in fact, to fall off the back of an old turnip truck. . . . . it wasn't a pretty sight. :(

Just hearing the name Kevin John & its over for me.Its so far away from anything I would ever buy....

Well there's the rub, goldie. As jill jackson pointed out, the only way to know for sure that you haven't already bought a knife from the folks who make Kevin John knives is never to have a bought a knife made in China. I can't speak for anybody else, but I'm not prepared to turn my back on the output of an entire country just because some of the people who live in that country are crooks. YMMV.

PS: Anyone who refuses to buy anything made in China better not open their televisions sets.

The Kevin John knives are the best fakes I have seen, scary good. I can assure you I don't and will not own any of that crap.

I wouldn't want to own any scary good crap either. ;)

Seriously, jill and atony have it right. Based on the evidence, if you buy knives made in China, you're probably helping to support the people who make Kevin John knives whether you buy their knives directly or not.
