My dad gave me a Craftsman he found in his yard, which must have been lost by someone the night before he found it--a little patina but no rust! Great Camillus made example, has lived in my tool box for years!

Utica seems to have dropped some stockmans and trappers, as well as the entire Buckstag line, in addition to the Barlows. Can't be good.

They seem to have shifted focus away from their line of in house traditionals quite a while back, one seldom reads anything here about them. As was mentioned above, they did not really advertise much. At least Klein is still carrying two of Utica's electricians knives, a coping knife, a lock back and a pair of hawkbills.

Thanks to everyone for information and pic sharing. Without a doubt the porch is the best forum I've ever been on. Everyone is positive and encouraging, and helpful. Nobody snipes at anyone, unless its a good natured bit of ribbing among friends.Even on a thread that someone starts just to beat a dead horse over a decision made and closed on. On most kinda forums that would have started a flame war. Everybody here was polite, even when they was firm. Seems to me that people who care about traditional knives also care about traditional values. Really glad I found this forum.

I thought so to, especially after I started looking into them. Most are two blades, and when they do have 3 most have a hawkbill. The sheepfoot seems to be bit of a rarity, but I like it. I've had occasion to use it this week to replace some outlets. I found the sheepfoot just the thing for splitting the outermost insulation.

I think being a knife that's usually not particularly collectable value wise, and can be picked up at a bargain makes these great candidates for modding. Hopefully I'm going to go to some flea markets this weekend.I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for any old traditionals. If I find another tl-29 type that's a bit on the Rough side think I'm going to try to mod it to a single blade. Would be my first total mod.

To the OP and anyone else, how is the fit and finish on your Klein electrician knives? My reason for asking is, i have a Klein TL29, represented as NOS, that is one of the worst fitted knives I own. The biggest beef is springs badly sunkem, and at different levels. I looks to be assembled by Bizarro Klein.

All of my other TL29s (Marbles, Rr, and a flea market Imperial) are much better. Sorry for the thread hijack, but reading it brought the question to mind.

Fortunately that is not always true of Kleins. Mine are robust and well fitted.
Maybe I just lucked out.
