I'm a user who (customizes and) collects :)

Etc.

The two things are not exclusive, IMO.
What is the fixed blade on the far left?

I have what I consider varied collections of things. I have a farm hand tool collection, a knife collection, axe collection, hammer collection, hatchet collection, hand scythe collection…..but, there are some of you who probably have double of any specific collection I have and don’t consider yourself to have a “collection” of that item. My point is it’s relative to how your things are processed by others in relation to what their norm is. To me, it’s like different stages of the same happening. Collecting, accumulating, hoarding, enthusiast, owning, possessing, it’s all part of the same patchwork. A common thread that has multiple measures of where all of these words have a home. Just different degrees of “it” on the same common thread. Idk…just my 2 cents.

I have an accumulation that has no rhyme or reason other than I like it.
We all start with an accumulation of the knives that we like. As that grows we discover sub-sets that tell a meaningful story to us. Something like knives used in WWII, knives made by brand X, knives once owned by my uncle, or that are for nautical use. Any time that we have two or more knives that seem to convey something that is a collection. Some collections are huge and highly focused while others are smaller and loosely associated; it is your show-and-tell, present it however it pleases you.

Had to think about it some , but I believe I actually still am a collector , of sorts . 🤔

I would have said, I'm just an accumulator now , but I think that's not entirely true .

I'm a collector of things , I want to have the Experience of . Preferably something new and different / interesting .

Touching , examining , understanding , using . Mastering , so far as I'm able to.

Merely owning a "vault queen " , is worse than useless for me .

I enjoy discovering how a new lock mechanism , blade steel /geometry , handle materials / design ergonomics etc ,will affect the feel and performance vs ones I already have .

I’ve got a benchmade bugout and osborne collection going.

I’ve got a bugout in M390 with aluminum scales (probably my favorite blade I own)
I’ve got a regular grivory bugout which hasn’t been touched and I’m planning to mod.
I’ve got a CF elite bugout that I’ve used nearly to death.
I’ve got a mini bugout.

In Osborne 940’s

G10 and M4 steel. I’ve died it a really nice brown, added some tritium thumbstuds and benchmade’s full sized deep carry clip.

M390 and Micarta

Magnacut and fat carbon

I’ve got plans to get a regular aluminum and S30V model too.

I’ve also got a Microtech thing going on, but that collection is smaller. Cypher2, Microtech, UTX85, LUDT.
