Well , Eric aka Knif3buy3r did NOT HONOR his sale ad.

He posted for sale two BM balisongs at 3:53 PM on 10/28.

They were for , as he listed them -- a BM41T and a BM42 "Toxic".

I replied at 5:59 on 10/28 -- I WILL TAKE THE BM41T and stated that I had also emailed him. Which I did -- also stateing that I WOULD BUY the BM41T.

In the next 24 hours , I sent him at least another two emails --- asking if he had the box/papers , asking for photos , and if he would give me a discount if I bought BOTH the BMs and not just the BM41T.

Meentime, My "BM Guru" -- seen the ad and informed me that there really was NOT a BM41T made -- UNLESS the seller was selling a BM41 with a T Latch perhaps.

So , I sent ANOTHER email to Eric and asked for clarafication and pics and told him " I WILL STILL TAKE IT".

Then around 2-4 PM on 10/29 , Eric changed his ad , in the body of text , not subject title -- that the knife I said I would buy was a BM40T ---- a "Trainer" and not a pointed/sharp knife ----- I Sent him ANOTHER email saying I WOULD STILL BUY THE TRAINER and again , asking for a price break if I bought BOTH his BM knifes.

Then I posted in his ad at 5:59 PM on 10/29 --THAT I WOULD TAKE THE BM40T for his full asking price.

He replied to his thread at 6:00 PM on 10/29 that the Bm40T was sold and quoted my "i'll take it" post !!!!

After checking my emails FOR HOURS and not seeing any Eric sent -- I posted again at 10:33 PM on 10/29 telling him that I had sent numerous emails to him and HAD NOT got ANY KIND OF REPLY and put in public , my home email address etc.

TODAY , at 5:28 Eric posts in his ad -- sent you a email , sorry for the delay.

The email he sends me states that he had the BM40T sold on "another board" , the buyer backed out of the sale , and he then sold the BM40T TO ANOTHER BUYER !!!!!

Now --- this was AFTER he seen my public posts in HIS ad , plainly saying " I WILL BUY IT " ----- add the FACT that I sent a bunch of emails to him prior to this !!!!

SO --- he doesn't proof read his posted ad , then gets informed or "catches his mistake" and changes the ad from a sharp knife with a point to a Trainer , ignores my many emails to him , and SELL THE KNIFE TO SOMEONE ELSE !!!

Truth is --- I wholly belive someone offered him a better price for it after I posted my 1st or 2nd "I'll Take It ".

Th the Mods or Forum Owners --- I can forward any/all emails etc.

To the Members here ---- all I can say is that I WILL NOT buy anything that Eric offers for sale at any time.

Keep in mind that a seller can choose for himself to whom he will sell. Any usual procedure takes a back seat to the seller's decision. You do not have a right to a knife until he clearly agrees to sell it to you.
 
Well all I can say is...Be cautious when dealing with Da Bird because you may have to deal with BS like this.

Thanks Mr. Benyamin, your 50,000+ plus posts speaks to your experience with situations like this.

You were obviously very interested to buy these knives and I can understand wanting to get the "right now" confirmation of that interest. However, I think it is worth considering that despite how quickly and often we can all communicate these days it is not really some kind of unforgivable sin that someone doesn't get back to you within a matter of a few hours. Not everyone operates on the same timetable. I think the anxiousness on your part about the transaction, expressed in the quote above, has added to your sense of feeling wronged in this situation. Sitting back and taking a deep breath may not change any other facts about what happened but it might offer a chance to reflect on how much anger you feel like laying out here.
 
I will agree that it is not wise to get so angry about something where I lost no money etc.

And I still think that if you have the time to log in and change/edit your ad , then you do have the time to respond to the people that post interest ---- and double so , if some one is CLEARLY posting " i'll take it " .

If you leave on a weekend vacation , get ill , house hit by tornado etc ---- that is fully understandable to me. You take the time to change/edit your ad and respond to the sale of the item at other forums --- but no time to respond to the person here that posts " i'll take it" ??? Well --- that I do not understand.

Mr. Benyamin ---- I fully understand what you have said. The SELLER can sell to who ever they chose , I argee 100%. But if they do put " first to reply" or "first to pm" or "posted at other forums -- sell by post/email time stamp" --- then the buyer would hope the seller would honor their own written conditions.

I understand and agree with those points --- I don't understand a seller logging on , editing their ad , and not repyling to a poster stateing they will buy your item for full asking price.

The feedback section is for both buyers and sellers to leave feedback ----- I have left very positive feedback for more then one seller here at BF and have recently posted a nomination for a seller to the Hall Of Fame ---- and I have left negitive feedback for exactly ONE seller.

YES -- I did post in anger ----- if this type of thing occured at the food store or gas station , I would be angry about it there also.

For whatever reasons , the seller CHOSE to sell the knife to someone other then myself.
He was quite happy to talk/email me and offer the higher priced knife to me after he sold the one I had offered to buy.

I posted a ANGRY but a TRUTHFULL feedback and can prove so by the ad itself and the emails betweem the seller and myself. I would still forward the emails to the mods/owners if asked.

That will not change anything -- the knife is still sold , I am still not happy with the seller and the seller is not happy with me as the buyer.

The seller Chose not to sell me that knife --- and I Chose never to buy from him at all and leave a negitive feedback for him.

I DO NOT take any real pleasure from doing so ----- I would have MUCH rather been told the knife was sold or even better -- that yes , the knife was sold to me. I would have much rather posted a positive feedback saying how happy I was with the seller and not how unhappy I am with the seller.

Never says he'll send payment upon confirmation- to me he was still haggling- asking for more details, pictures and even haggling over a price break for both items.

I think he was merely telling you that the knife was sold. Not that he was agreeing to sell it to you. As for the other buyer, perhaps you weren't the next in line.

How does he have "No Honor"?Because he decided not to sell to you?

I agree with Esav.The buyer is not obligated to sell to anyone,especially if that person makes him feel uncomfortable.

Also DaBird,You have ZERO iTrader feedback.That may be an issue too.

yeah, this could be true. quoting the OP's post and saying that it's sold is kind of vague, so it could mean the OP got it, or someone else did.
 
Wow, more hurt feelings and broken dreams on Bladeforums. I wonder how some people make it through the day...
 
While I agree the seller can sell to who he wants if you quote someone and and make a comment in the same post I would think you were referring to who was in the quote.Unclear at best.
 
Knife was listed on 2 forums. Sat for a while on both. On the other forum a buyer asked for my paypal addy and paid the asking price (Time Stamped 30 Min before Da Bird Responded). I still offered Da Bird the other knife at a further discounted price. Finally, Da Bird was noncommittal. At the point the other buyer put up the money, this was over...

Rule8;All ads should be placed in ONE appropriate forum. NO CROSS POSTING OF ADS IN MULTIPLE FORUMS.
