Ok. I'm gonna say this and I'm gonna stay out of the rest of this. I don't have a problem with the OP's thread except now in hind sight maybe the title needs to be edited (IMHO). Dabird felt slighted and voiced his opinion here without fully understanding that knives can and do get sold elsewhere even when they are listed for sale here. The reason for this forum, and in fact this thread, is here is so people can learn what to do, what not to do, who to deal with and who not to. knif3buy3r didn't do anything wrong until he left negative iTrader feedback for Dabird when no deal had taken place. ITrader is different than The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly. No deal no feedback with itrader. No reason why someone cannot discuss a deal that fell through here. I would hope that he would request for that to be reversed. I would probably deal with either of these guys in the future if both can suck it up and let bygones be bygones. The thread itself will serve as guidance for anyone who chooses to read about exactly what happened here. People can form their own opinions and hopefully many people, not just these two, will learn from this experience.
 
Please do not get us involved with other sites.
We have enough to do keeping up with what goes on here.

I DO NOT have much feedback here ---- I have learned that if HALF the people you buy or sell to , take the time to leave feedback -- that is a HIGH AVERAGE.

AT other forums ---- I HAVE A 100% POSITIVE feedback rate and just was trying to prove that point.

Apparently that deal occurred 30 minutes before your "I'll take it" post. KB wasn't the clearest or quickest in his communication with, but now the timeline of what happened seems pretty clear. You weren't the next in line, and KB wasn't dishonest about anything.
 
I respect all of your opinions, including Jerry's, the knife is gone to another buyer. If there is a moderator who can remove the feedback - you have my permission to do so.

Seller posted knife for sale at 3:53 pm.

The next post under the Sellers "was a request for pics" -- at 3:55 PM

The next post --- Mine -- was a " I'LL TAKE IT " --- at 5:59 PM



To be clear ----- 1st the SELLER --- Then the "PICS Please " --- Then MY "I'LL take it"


THE SELLER DID NOT POST UNTILL 24 HOURS LATER THAT THE KNIFE WAS SOLD !!!!
 
There is no moderator who can remove the feedback.

Post a request to delete it in the Tech Support forum and Spark will take care of it.

That does not apply to forums outside Bladeforums. Your knife, and you can post it for sale on multiple sites.

You can also refuse to sell to any one for any reason.

I'll take it does not make for a done deal.

I'll take it with an "its all yours.....etc" and then you still have to make payment before the knife is sold.


And, often, smart buyers who are trying for a different price, or terms will send a PM, or email, without posting in the post (which I believe is now the rule, so it does not bump the constantly just requesting photo's etc).

Posting your interest with a "pm" sent may only cause another buyer to post "I'll take it at the asking price" just so they don't miss out.


Many crafty buyers make secret purchases all the time.
 
OK. This is just my humble opinion so take it as you wish but I think it will help. DaBird, when I suggested you edit the title of your thread I was thinking of maybe something like editing it to read "Deal fell through with Knif3buy3r" and maybe even removing the thumbs down also. Knif3buy3r, how about REQUESTING that the negative itrader feedback be removed since it was underserved to begin with. You can post that request here http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=679 along with a brief explanation of what happened if you choose to instead of just granting to permission to the moderators. With a few quick keystrokes on each side this thing can get dropped and neither of you will be any the worse for wear. Man up a little bit further and people on here will continue to deal with you both. Just my $0.02. Take my advice or don't.
 
DTTOMCAT ---- i don't have a problem with removeing the " thumbs down " and have done so.

I STILL am displeased with what occured ------ not that I did not get the knife --- but how I felt I was treated/ignored.
 
I understand that DB and so will anyone who reads this thread. That's why this thread is here. But keeping this thing going is only going to harm BOTH of your reps. Shrugging it off on both sides will make you both look better. My personal opinion after reading through this is that it was just a deal that didn't work out. And neither guy deserves to have his name trashed. That is all. Just my opinion.

DaBird the potential Buyer lets it drop ----- GREAT

If OTHERS want to throw gas on the fire ---- WHATEVER

Eric has tried to state his case

I think I have calmed down and made edits to my post that were spoke in anger
I think Eric has calmed down and also made a attempt to "edit" what he spoke in anger


Eric ---- let you and me just Drop This ---- lets NEITHER OF US keep this going.
