Knife discrimination

Sometimes you'll meet people who don't have the same views as many of us do concerning our knife carry of choice.

If you can have a civil discussion and sway their position, that's always a great outcome. I find this is a rarity though.

These type of interactions are a good motivator to get involved in protecting your hobby, passions, and rights by paying attention to legislation and participating.

To be completely honest, one of the drivers behind my ridiculous collection is the notion that one day in the near future they may be banned.

My comment was directed at the person who was so upset about being a victim of “knife discrimination” that they felt compelled to start this thread, I’m being condescending because I think it’s phony outrage. Yeah of course there are people who don’t like knives. Just because someone doesn’t share your interests, that doesn’t make you a victim of historical “racism and discrimination.”

I think you are reading much more into this than need be. Or perhaps not enough....

The point being there are enough sheeple in the world right now, and they are the voting majority. I think every responsible knife (and gun) owner has a justifiable right to be "outraged" when the uninformed masses have hysterical fits or make inappropriate comments over an inanimate object.

Stand up for your (our) rights, or you'll find out that those rights may become privileges. And privileges are not protected by law or constitution.

I'm not far off, my FA carry of choice is a CZ PCR.

I've had several people that work in the same building I used to work in, stop by my desk as I was peeling an apple, or opening a package and make a comment about my pocket knife du jour. Usually I'd have something like a Kizer Sovereign, or an Olamic 247 or a Spyderco Endura and they would say something like "... what are you gonna do with that knife?" And I wanted to say "What does it LOOK like I'm doing with it? I'm (peeling an apple, peeling an orange, opening a package)" but instead, for some reason, I usually asked "Why?" And generally the answer would be something along the lines of "It looks scary" or "Is that thing legal?" REALLY?!?! My Kizer has beautiful blue scales and looks more like a work of art to me, my Olamic 247s are practically works of art, but my Endura encompasses the reality: they are all very practical TOOLS.

I'm the op, I post what I want. If it bothers you move on. (But you just can't help yourself, have to be the focus of attention.)

Knife laws are racist in origin, so I choose to stand against anti knife thinking while you want to minimize it cool, guess every one knows where we each stand.
 
Sorry... Knife laws aren't racist.
They are simply an attempt (sometimes misguided and poorly conceived); to try and limit criminal behavior.

That is such pre-2010 thinking!

EVERYTHING is racist!! Freud said that everything was about sex, but what did he end up knowing? Now, enlightened post-modernists that we are, we know for a fact that everyone and everything is racist, regardless of race, creed, color, religion (another outdated concept, unless you worship trees, scientific theories, the sun, the paranormal or the occult) national origin, gender, sexual orientation, favorite ice cream flavor or preferred knife brand.

I still disagree with people who think that basic pocket knives are primarily weapons, and not primarily tools, but I respect their right to have their own opinion, regardless of how radically it differs from mine.

How many young kids are taught to use a knife and carry a pocket knife, how many go shooting or hunting with a parent or grandparent?... The liberal snowflakes are trying to eliminate all of that heritage and self-reliance.

This is one more reason to support knife rights and the work Doug Ritter does, and join your local sportsmen club and 2A organization.

Aww, man...This is just another reason for me to regret selling off my Microtechs a few years back when I (very mistakenly) thought I was "over my auto phase". Now I don't have anything to stab and rob with so I can afford more Microtechs 😢
