Update:
Saw the spyderco Calypso 3, and immediately loved the design. The metal backspacer, rear locking mechanism. Only problem is that it's been discontinued! The search continues.
Knives I'm currently looking at
-Delica
-Dragonfly
-Sage
-Chap
-ZT 0450 (expensive)
-Caly 3.5 (a little large and expensive)
-kizer (no idea what model)
Regarding the more expensive knives on the list, I'm more leaning to a cheaper knife which can be my everyday 'beater' knife. Not something which id do anything other than cutting with, but something I'm not afraid to loose or break. These more expensive knives are really a mental hurdle for me because i don't see a tough knife in my hand, i see a 150 dollar piece of art in my hand
The Delica definitely carries better, and it's more versatile in everyday tasks.
Im very close to going for the Delica. It seems compact, well-priced, and a good length. Im pretty sure not much beats it for the price.
Great Pictures, they honestly really helped. I will search the Gemni, Kesmec, Rattler, and Corto right now, and comment my opinion. That chaparral is a very handsome looking knife. Never realized how compact it is. Im thinking of potentially ruling out the ZT450 because of the price. Its a real shame because it's such a pretty knife!!Here's a couple more pics of the knives I have handy from your list. I paired them with a PM2 since you already have one. Love all of them.
Spyder PM2, Kizer 3452, ZT 450, Delica, Chaparral, Dragonfly Salt.

With ZT's, the least expensive is probably the 350, but not on the list. The 450 I consider a little less robust only because of my grip on the very narrow frame and slender blade. I still really love the 770CF. Thin, light and great grip.
I don't have a ton of experience with Kizer, but absolutely love my 3452 (x3 [emoji41]). Other notables in your price ballpark may be the Gemni, Kesmec, Rattler, and Corto.
Sent from my mind....using Tap-a-Thought. (tm)
Big Spydie fan here and I wouldn't argue with any of the knives suggested. The Delica and Native are great choices as is the Chap. The Chap is a nice small/thin size yet still has a decent amount of edge length. The back lock on mine works very well and the blade drops down when the lock bar is depressed. The CTS-XHP steel seems to be pretty good too.
If you're interested in a ZT 0450 keep your eye on the exchange. They show up fairly often. I picked up a nice one recently for a very good price. I have to say that it's become a really nice knife once I moved the clip over so it doesn't rest on the lock bar and broke it in a little. Flips like mad now!
You stated you felt the Native was chunky compared to the Delica & Chap. See last line in your last post. So I asked if
you handled all 3??
Well, it seems that generally, there are three brands mentioned in heads such as this: Beanchmade, Spyderco, and Zero Tolerance. In this case, I'd like to mention another.
If the ZT 450 is a consideration, you must at least give the Boker Urban Trapper a look. It's light, slim, and durable enough got get through most days for me as a maintenance tech. For less that $80, depending on variant, it can be yours as well.

Accidentally posted this in another thread, but this is where I meant to post this...
The ZT 0450 and BM 940 seem to be the ideal size for me. I found 1 other knife in my collection that is right about that same size and I think you can get it new for $100. It's the Piranha P1 Pocket, but it's an auto. The scales are slick and I haven't put it to any hard use to find out how durable it is, but it seems like a descent enough knife. The full flat ground blade is excellent at slicing, and it seems to hold a pretty descent edge.
If you want something smaller, the BM 707 Sequel and the 903 mini Stryker are 2 that I like, they're both about $140 new. The HK mini axis is another great option for right under $100. It definitely seems like a rugged little knife and is just as slim in the pocket as the rest I've mentioned. I think it only comes with a black blade though, so it just depends if that suits your taste or not.
The Delica 4 is a nice knife and much easier on the wallet. The one I have has a full flat ground blade so it also excels in the slicing department. I just can't deal with how wide it is in my pocket, not the thickness, it's nice and slim, just the width. Anytime I need to reach in my pocket to get something else out, I have to take the knife out, otherwise whatever I'm trying to get out is gonna get wedged against the knife and force the knife out of my pocket anyway. Nice knife it just doesn't work for me and I think that's what turns me off of all the Spyderco models.

And btw, that Boker Urban Trapper is one that I plan to try in the near future.![]()
I'm amazed it hasn't already been mentioned; I've carried a Spyderco Delica almost exclusively for the last month or so.
If you thought the PM2 was too big and are afraid of using the 940 because of the pricetag, the Delica would be my choice. Great size, plenty tough and is priced to be used.
You can even dress it up a bit with some aftermarket scales should you desire to. I have a set of Boomer's scales ordered, but quite like the stock FRN as well.
