I haven't read the entire thread, but I own knives from CRKs to Victorinox SAKs, Case, Buck, old Schrades, and in-between. The one type of knife that I ALWAYS have on me is a Victorinox SAK; usually two different ones. My Alox Pioneer SAK cost me about $25. Victorinox's quality is almost mind-blowing considering their low prices and their enormous output. Even the knives I use in the kitchen are Victorinox, the most expensive one about $40.
I like what I like, and price has little to do with it. High quality and value for money come in all price ranges, and vice versa.
