Knife guessing game ( based on description ) now guessing fixed blades

Wooden covers and some of them had fancy Aurum etches or engraving on the main blade.

afishhunter, you almost got it. Care to take another stab?

Buck 703 ?
I think it was called the pony, but the only company I can think of is painted pony, where Micheal prater customizes production knives ( he sells buck 110's for over 200-300$ )

I was definitely looking for the 703 as it is the one that is 3 1/4 inches long. All of the knives in the 700 series were named after horses. Pony, Yearling, Colt, Maverick, etc. I believe the Pony was the 705.

You're up.

This one is a 2 blader with a clip and pen blade, and Delrin handles.
It was made in NY but now made in China since around '05.

On this one I'm looking for the name of the knife and brand.
But not the model# as that's what it's most commonly know by.

Yep you got it your turn.

( on a side note I'm looking forward to possibly dropping that Barlow in my pocket )

Sweet. I assume we are avoiding repeats? I better do a quick skim of the thread while I think of one.

(Estimated delivery date was today, so hopefully it won't be too much longer.)

OK, This is a knife with a special blade you would use to "taste" a little "fiber".

Man this is a tough one that I have no clue about, and I keep picturing a hawkbill which can't be right.
I'm sure gt OT railsplitter will get it as they usually do.

( now that I know the knife should be here soon I'll be like a kid on Christmas for the next couple of days until it gets here 😁 )

That's not a lot to go off of so I'm just gonna throw something out... Case hobo?

Nope, sorry. That's not it.
A hint: This pattern is usually a single blade knife, with a rather long, unusually shaped blade.

We had melon tester just 1 or 2 knives back so that's not it... it's not a corn knife because there's no fiber in feet lol. I dont' know... Now that the server is back up someone else will hopefully figure it out.

I just googled cotton sampler, an wow those are awesome and I'd love to as one to my collection if rough rider made them.

I was stuck on "tasting" I was about to start naming some kitchen cutlery .

This next one is something I look for on occasion but never pulled the trigger... This USA based manufacture went out of business around 2004, but carries on in namesake under a conglomeration of brands. If you need to be bailed out of trouble this knife could be pressed into service. I believe they were fairly common pre 1950 before Uncle Sam had something to say.

I'm not 100% sure on the dates... give or take a bit of years.
