Knife guessing game ( based on description ) now guessing fixed blades

What about those novelty magic knives where there's a trick to opening them ?
I know that imperial used to make them.

I should say that I've just discovered something that I was unaware of when creating this riddle. What the mystery person has in common with the wizard, witch, and magician, seems to be referred to with a different name for the mystery person,:o where I always thought it's name was the same.
CLUE#3...so does GT, as the word appears in his post. There's a good chance at least some others will know it as I do, so we'll give it another guess or two, and if not guessed, I'll just reveal the answer.

Where did a "mystery person" come from, and how is he/she related to the knife we're trying to guess??:D

And if there's something that I (GT) also know or do or use, I sure don't realize it, and have no clue what word in my post is a key!?!:D (If you held a knife to my throat - and I know you all have one - I'd probably say "wand" is important, somehow.)

Reminds me of a 60-year-old TV game show hosted by Groucho Marx in which a contestant "says the magic word and wins $100" (or whatever the amount was). No one ever said the magic word intentionally, it just happened!

Has to be wands, robes ,or spells.
Sounds like a nerds bedroom fetish😁😁

( unless it's a magic knife which is my guess )

I should have said mystery person/knife, as the mystery person's title is the same name as the knife.

GT, you're honing in on it, the word is in fact wand. Considering my vocabulary blip, I'll also say that what I thought was a wand our mystery person used, is actually technically known as a baton.:o

It's probably some obscure gec knife, most of the knives on here gave been gec knives which I know little about.

Robes on?
:D:D I like that one, meako!

Aha! My first thought was "wand" and I looked up synonyms and found "baton" and couldn't do anything with it. But now with the mystery person connection, an orchestra conductor wields a baton. H & S is correct: gotta be one of those obscure GEC models such as the #33 Conductor!

This will probably be too easy because it's just a description, not really a riddle.

This knife has 1 blade, saber-grind, spine has a concave curve to it. It's a friction folder, closed length 3 7/8".

higonokami tanto?
Not sure if the standard one would be a Sabre grind.

Higonokami is what I had in mind. Nice job, Hickory n steel!:thumbup:
Looking forward to your next "turn".
