You cannot blame Busse my friend-This is America, if you make a purchase you can re-sell it-Go buy a Car and let the manufacture tell you if you buy it you cannot re-Sell it-I think that may be called Communism-Cheers!!!
In the end Busse is to blame (yes I know that's sacrilege around these parts but it is the truth), their business model allows blades to be bought and then resold for massive profit and they haven't put any restrictions in place to prevent people reselling.

You can't blame profiteers (well you can but it would be pointless), if not Lui Kang some other scumbag will fill his shoes, in the buy/sell a guy called dericdesmond has put 60+ knives from blade up for sale, so it's not just one person.

And you can't blame the people buying them, all Busse's are limited run items. So supply is low and demand is high, if you want one you really have to just get it where you can.

In the end I think it's up to Busse to look after their customers and not let these people get away with it, put a restriction on purchases per person at blade and have the known re sellers banned from the forums so they can't peddle their wares as easily.

That's really disgusting behavior. Honestly though, who's to blame?? He is known far and wide. I don't care what he is selling, stop buying his knives. When he can't make his money see how fast he goes away. People like him exist because people allow him to prosper. What incentive does he have to stop?? I don't consider someone with his ethics a legitimate dealer. Put him out of business, that's how it stops.

In an email conversation with him, I asked "when are you going to lower the prices on those blades you've had on the bay for three years now?"

His response: "I don't need to sell any of them. I could just keep them all. Good luck in your search."

Did you read what I wrote? I never suggested people shouldn't be able to re-sell their knives, that is one of the great things about the brand, they hold their value so well. (Also that has absolutely nothing to do with communism, communism is a political system whereby everything is publicly owned and distributed and you work based on the needs of the state)

I am saying that Busse is not looking after their customers, who go to these events to have fun and look at the unique knives and maybe buy one or two, by allowing known scumbags to buy up the entire stock within minutes.

Unfortunately, that is true. Lui Kang was there with a few of his people and they each swarmed the table, spread their arms out, and literally gathered up a very large pile of knives, not caring about banging the satin blades into each other during the process. It really bothered me.

Yes, then they take the pics at an angle where the scratches cannot be seen. Then when sold, they blame the post office..or the buyer.
LK Sucks Canal water, Do not trust him!!

dericdesmond put all his blades on the Exchange up at $1 less than he paid for them, making some great knives available to HOGs who can't attend Blade at the prices Busse charged for them, and clearly showed the price tags in his photos. Hardly a "profiteer".

Take for instance an INFI ASH-2 with G10 handles listed by dericdesmond, $477 ticket price, $553 delivered including Paypal fees. The other character being discussed here has an identical (apart from the colours) ASH-2 for sale on the bay for $680 delivered. It makes you sick, but ultimately I don't see what anyone can do about it except not buy from 'he who should not be named', which doesn't seem to bother him apparently.

OK fair enough, I guess we are sayin the same thing-I think most are basically upset that 1 or 2 or who now's how many people scarfed a big portion of the knives available and then the people who had actually attended with the purpose of purchasing 1 or 2 of their favorite models could not. Cheers

Agreed, Bought one from him

All companies have the right to "limit quantities “and generally do under certain circumstances.

While anyone can purchase as many knives as they want under O2W, it would be nice to see some kind of limit at special public events such as blade show to allow as many attendees as possible to purchase a blade if they wish. For many that is the highlight of the show… to acquire a unique blade.

Well said.

Blade is unique. To be at a show as a normal consumer and have an opportunity to see/buy new blades from a manufacturer that you enjoy... that's what makes Blade special.

If resellers dominate the landscape, what sense does it make for the normal consumer to make an effort to go?

None.

Just my opinion.

Agreed. I was sitting here thinking how cool it was that those of us who can't make a trip like that are actually getting a shot at the blades from there, at a price that hasn't been jacked up. I just got to the thread too late. All the ones I wanted were gone. Lol!
But, guys like LK that bring a mob to snatch up mass quantitis in one swoop are the reason I will probably never spend the money to make the trip.

I too have bought blades from dericdesmond and you won't find a nicer guy to deal with. He helped me a bunch at my first blade show and I saw him do plenty for others. He's a true Hog and a good guy.

I don't appreciate the swooping up of huge numbers of blades to resell for exorbitant profit; however I will gladly buy a one of a kind knife from someone on the exchange to help fund there trip to blade while I still get the opportunity to have a knife from it since my soil science professor was an ass and wouldn't let me take my final exams early so I could attend.

Sincerely,
Ego sum Chrysaora

I did not know what was going on Saturday morning until they dropped the chain. I saw what you are talking about. I was excepting someone to slice their wrist.
