Don't buy from people / dealers / resellers / flippers you don't like for whatever reason...whether it's the price, service, condition of product, brand of aftershave he wears...

This is America...vote with your dollars to effect change in the business world, and if enough people agree with you, real change can take place. Pretty democratic, IMHO.

Having said that, putting Eric <dericdesmond> in the same sentence as LK, tunchun, <whatever other aliases and secret identies he's going by>--- is totally beyond the pale.

No comparison....some folks here are either misinformed, not wise enough, lack expericence, or have an axe to grind.

Cut a deal with both guys and get back with me. Let me truly know which was a better buying experience....

My one photo from the show from my iPhone.
But I wanted to comment on the reselling. I came out with 15 knives of which 80% I don't need. I listed all 15 on the exchange. I look it as spreading some Busse hog love. It's not for the profits:rolleyes:

Last year dericdesmond basically had a mini Bladeshow ganzaa for all of the people that couldn't make it,, I loved it.

I can't see the image George.

George

I was able to buy one of those blades and even though I could not attend Blade Show, I was able to get the blade I most likely would have selected had I been there.

Thank you my friend for bringing the blade show to Ohio for me!

In the end Busse is to blame (yes I know that's sacrilege around these parts but it is the truth), their business model allows blades to be bought and then resold for massive profit and they haven't put any restrictions in place to prevent people reselling.

You can't blame profiteers (well you can but it would be pointless), if not Lui Kang some other scumbag will fill his shoes, in the buy/sell a guy called dericdesmond has put 60+ knives from blade up for sale, so it's not just one person.

And you can't blame the people buying them, all Busse's are limited run items. So supply is low and demand is high, if you want one you really have to just get it where you can.

In the end I think it's up to Busse to look after their customers and not let these people get away with it, put a restriction on purchases per person at blade and have the known re sellers banned from the forums so they can't peddle their wares as easily.

Here we go again....every year right? Some of you are being flat out crybabies. To blame Busse is wrong. Period. If you don't like how it plays out then you have to go to the trough and get knives for yourself. Many of us have done it.

You can complain about one guy but I assure you that he's not the only one who buys large quantities of knives to resell. It's America. If those guys can stand to sit on knives then they have the cash to do it.

I've met and talked to most of the big buyers. They are all great people.

So, I don't post often, way to much controversy and contention, that being said no one believes in the american way more than me, BUT.... This is my 7th year at Blade, so I've been around the block, but it does suck and it has gotten old that a couple of guys show up and just literally grab everything without it mattering in the least bit what it is, color, style shape, to them its just a thing. The card catching is understandable, don't we all wish we had a business and a product that people literally fight to get. Its good fun. But, I have started bringing my 9 and 15 year old and they do save up all year and it would definitely be a different experience if anyone had a chance to even have a chance to hold, look and touch all of the hundreds of customs that the Busse crew works so hard on and brings, Knives are very personal and it sucks that just a few people attempt to ruin it for everyone else.
I wish there was a different way to do all of it.

I've never been to blade yet so I don't know exactly how it works, but what if they had a first round one knife per customer (for a limited period of time, everybody still gets to rush the table) on day one; then opened it up to mass buyer anarchy after people had a chance to get a keepsake from the show. I feel like that would be a good compromise, its not like the mass buyers wouldn't come back later.

Genuinely upsets me that I would tick off anyone but whiny entitled babies in the trough. I love to play and be agressive, its what busse advocates however not many of us would ever be ok with someone making the show just to leave empty handed esp the little ones. If ever I or any of the other people who I know for a fact are willing to help in any way please never be shy, seriously.

And oge I swear you do this all the time. You know damn well where these threads are headed when you post them.

Some of you are more concerned and upset about what grown ass men do then my mom was when she found out she was gonna die in two weeks, smfh

So mature deric.

If you're one of the people who go to these events, buy up the majority of stock in the first few minutes with the sole intention of selling it, then I consider you on the same level as LK, no matter how honorable your intentions. The people who bought the tickets and spent the time traveling should have the first pick at it, and anything left over for those who can't make it. Otherwise what's the point? Busse might aswell stay home and just sell all his stock online.

And stop saying things like "this is america" the US does not have a free market, legislation is always needed to stop exploitation, no one is saying you shouldn't be able to do what you want with what you buy, I'm suggesting that you shouldn't be able to ruin everyone else's day by buying everything up, just so you can come here and try and make a name for yourself.
