He didnt threaten him on BFC if it can be considered a threat. It was through an email....now was it through BFC email? Then would it count? I dont know, I think the matter should be dropped. I am not trying to argue with ya RAT(like pounding your head into a wall....you accomplish the same thing)

Noss4 I really think that you shouldnt ask for donations....you boldly claimed earlier that you didnt want any, and here you are asking for them. I know knives are expensive but your results wouldnt neccessarily be unbaised if they were donated now would they?

as far as you making money on the hits? I could care less but propps for bkkd for callin it.

If your gonna keep up with this site Noss4 your gonna get some people who are not fans(like you didnt already know) so you gotta watch how you say things.

I didn't threaten him period through email or on blade forums.read the email and read it for what it is not how people what to see it. As far as it being
on here I didn't post this.

I need to ask for some donations. I have never and will never ask any one on here for this. Only manufacturers are contacted for donations. It cost a lot of money to do this. Some I will buy some will be donated. one already has. I will not say who until the intro of the test. Others are pending.

I can understand and agree with Mike's decision to inquire about your "tests". You have a basic website with no controlled data, you are wearing horror movie masks, lack basic safety materials and use a phrase that comes from the band "Murder by Death" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Who_Will_Survive. Why would a knife company want to donate a knife to be tested by someone giving knife owners and manufacturers a bad name?

Again this is fine if he wants to ask about my tests I would to. And of course he has the right to refuse to donate. This is not the issue. Some of you Keyboard warriors will see it the way they want to see it.

I'm beating a dead horse here so this is my final post on this. I have stated what happened. All the haters now have some extra fuel to add to the fire.
So flame on.

Knife tests I would like to see on video...

I would like to see a knife shot out of a potato gun straight up in the air to see if it will land on the point.
The test is the myth that the more money a knife is, the more chance it will always land on the tip and get a chip and not on the handle.

ANOTHER TEST...
I would like to see , is a football fieldgoal kicker kick a knife to score 3 points.

For a test of how strong a knife is, I would like to see a knife on a stand about 3 feet tall on a road, then a guy in the back of a pickup drives by at 100MPH and hits the knife with a baseball bat.

I would also like to see a water float tied to a knife, then it tossed over a dam.

Then as a test to see if a knife is worth owning...I tie a knife to a weather bloon and let it go free,,,
Tied to the knife is a return address...The test is to see if you ever get the knife back?

Again this is fine if he wants to ask about my tests I would to. And of course he has the right to refuse to donate. This is not the issue. Some of you Keyboard warriors will see it the way they want to see it.

But it's not okay for Mike to ask a public forum about your practices?

Flame on!!!

No one is flaming here. It just seems that you might want to get a little firmer grasp on reality and re-evaluate your actions.

Most people don't know if a force of 48 piconewtons required to cleanly cut a blonde human hair of 40 micrometer diameter at sea level and 302 Kelvin is good, bad, or indifferent.

Generally I don't go that precise and there are always direct usage with general commentaries, pictures and as of late, video's, in addition to the measurements. I have been thinking of splitting the work but quite frankly I don't have much interest in writing to those people who don't want to understand about steels/knives and just want to be told what to buy. In fact, in the future I am most likely going to stop writing those types of general reviews completely and just focus on the measurement side of the work. However I appreciate those reviews and will be writing meta-reviews where I compile the work done by others, compare/contrast and present and overview as well as focused measured conclusions.

Heardhart, I'm not advocating eliminating the videos, maybe the costumes, but not the videos. I should have made that more clear. It would be nice if the "tests" followed a standard protocol that would allow one to compare two knives that were tested equally.

He is basically doing what is fun to him, if you impose a strict protocol the outcome would likely be nothing would be done. If you want to pay him to do a review for you it would be different.

Exactly. It is a destruction test as he intends to destroy the knife. The video is there and you can draw whatever conclussions you want from it. He's having fun doing it and will continue to do so. That is fine as I glean the info I want from his video's. My conclussions about the knives he tests are different than his based on what I see. But with the video it's there for all to see

Noss, I think you're seriously overreacting to Mike's posting here. He had never heard of you before and was just wanting to make sure he wasn't being the target of a conman who was trying to scam him out of a knife. IMO, he was trying to find out if you were reputable before giving you a yes/no answer.

Bob

I never said Ontario threatened me He posted I threatened him. go back and read. I agree most don't care about this however I need to set the record straight.

 Umm, that was a general comment relating to your thread about Strider attacking you about your test.

After viewing your tests on the Bushman, I now think differently about this knife. I used to think it was thin and flimsy , but after seeing the video of you hacking away at a paver stone(?), I would say that the Bushman can take more punishment than I previously thought. I'm not saying that I'd use any knife to cut brick or stone, but it is, on occasion, nice to see just how much abuse something can take. I may just get me a Bushman :p

Sweet Jesus, on my dumb@ss radar your barely hanging by a thread in the "not a dumb@ss" category then you go and post something about keyboard warriors, which you yourself VERY CLEARY ARE.

Pot....this is kettle, he wants his black back.

I am a keyboard warrior just like many of you. I can admit this most of you can't

I do not respond well to threats. Below is the email I received from noss4 just a bit ago. I guess it is not ok to voice disagreement with someone's methods and refuse to donate. Email from noss4 to Mike Perrin:

Why didn't you refuse to donate via e-mail, which was how noss wanted to deal with this business?
None of this seems too kosher, looking at all sides.

Not this guy again... I watched one of his video's on youtube just to see what the fuss was about. The tests make no sense whatsoever. Instead of knifetests it should be called "lets see how hard we can beat on a knife with a hammer before it breaks". These tests don't prove anything, because thats not how you use a knife. No one hacks apart a folding chair, or hits their knife as hard as they can on a vice... If you really want to test a knife, do some meaningful tests like chopping 2x4's, or cutting hemp rope. Seriously, if I'm going to break a cinderblock I'll use a sledgehammer. If I feel the need to cut apart a folding chair I'll use a hacksaw. All I'm saying is, it would benefit people much more if you actually performed a realistic knife test that was EXACTLY the same for each knife. Then you might have some good info on your hands. Please work on your spelling too, it may just be me but I don't find info creditable when it looks like a 12 year old typed it up.

Not this crap again. He does chop 2x4s and he splits 4x4s as well. It's all been criticized before, and I don't see why people keep chiming in with the same criticisms over and over again. It's been discussed before. Criticisms are good and may change the way he does things (or they may not), but bring a new discussion at least.

It's a real pain having to dredge through the same posts to find those new bits of useful information, whether they support or criticize his methods.

Its always the same few people that cant just shut up, like it or hate it, you dont have the right to slam someone for any reason if they have done nothing to you. You make yourselves look like little bratty kids and it's making me sick.
You want to complain about his methods, and slyly put test in parenthesis to cleverly show your disdain, put your money where your mouth is and make your own test site to show us lowly knife users how its done. Until then take your personal feelings for noss and what he does and get the he!! out of the forums intended for the exact opposite of what you are doing.
