Knife that stopped you from carrying and buying other knives

This thread is fairly surprising. I see lots of people mention CRK and CPK here.

They trully are great knives, but I didn't expect that much people using CRK and CPK. The main reason I didn't expect seeing them mentioned that much is the price.

I honestly expected to see mainly these brands mentioned:
Buck
Spyderco
Cold Steel
Benchmade

But then I realized, this forum is full of enthusiasts. Large percentage of people who bought something like Buck 110, Bugout, Delica or Recon1 just tossed it in their pocket and moved on with their life (meaning, they're not on here).

But also, Chinese knives seem to be all the rage lately... the designs, steels for the price, bargains and so on. Yet, I don't really see them mentioned here.

I always carry multiples, but almost always have a Spyderco PM2 with me. Since getting a CPE Magnacut modified tanto fixed blade it has become an edc (just love it) and wore it on my snowmachine bibs this winter. Off the road system (not in snowmachine bibs) a CPK SDFK is on my side with orange handled Endura’s in each front pocket (I like bright colors for chores and both sides for ease of use depending what I am doing). When not on my side the SDFK is in a bag with me- pretty perfect knife for the woods.

Yep. And don't forget community convergence - peer pressure is a thing. Reading you all for a couple years has convinced to try out things I never would have bought before stumbling into this joint. (I mean, the gladius I picked earlier this year up is really cool and all, I just have nothing to wear with it.)

Once I decide which 3.6 inch model (Sebenza31/Inkosi/Umnumzaan) to get to pair with my small Sebenza 31 I can’t see myself getting another knife. Other cast members are a PM3 S110v, Native 5 S30v and a Kershaw Dividend. The PM3 and Dividend will probably be sold once the large CRK is acquired.

I think it’s cute that you really think you can stop at 2 CRK ! ;)

Ha ha! You and @trevitrace wish!

Though I'm never done and do still pick up one or two a year, the Sebenza 21 as mentioned many times on here is the one for me.
I carry other knives but when I can't decide I put one in my pocket. I have one that I carried during both of my daughter's births. I'd sell it only if it was the last thing I had to sell to buy them food.

I agree exactly with what you wrote, and (except for Cold Steel) could easily pick a “end it all” knife from each of those brands:

Buck: 301 or 110 LW
Spyderco: Para 2 or Manix 2 LW
GEC: #15 or #85
Benchmade: 710 or 940

It’s funny that across the knives I own from those brands (the models I listed are my favorites) they are either designs that are decades old or variations of very old designs. There’s something very awesome about a tried and true design. The Buck 110 is a great example. It’s coming up on 60 years old still probably the best seller from Buck in all its variations

I still occasionally buy and carry other knives, but since 2012 I’ve carried my ZT 0560 99% of the time while not at work.

I saw the design/specs on Knifecenter and fell in love with the huge curved finger guard/flipper, so I pre-ordered three - one which hasn’t been used, and a couple that I modified (I added a wave to mine and one that that I ordered on behalf of my buddy) and that are both used regularly.
