Knifeart.com experience

I just ordered a Lionsteel SR1 Damascus from them. I had asked that they check to verify the blade was centered before they shipped because I've seen quite a few of these off center. They said they would and I received a perfectly centered blade.

Would happily order from them again.

Lemme make it easy for you, even though they are in Canada, True North is GOLDEN....Neil is knife people in spades, and I have never heard a serious complaint about his business in over 10 years.

Ditto that -- I have had many good experiences with Neil. However, I have also purchased a few items from Knife Art without issue. Maybe that's because I wasn't being obsequious. LOL!

You sure you didn't mean obstreperous? (I just don't see obsequious applying to any post dealing with STeven. ;))

Okay guys, I think I need to share this story with you. I just had some bad experiences with knifeart.com's customer service few days ago. Here is the case. I was looking for a Mick Strider Custom knife and I saw one in stock on their website (http://www.knifeart.com/duanedwyer1.html). However, I had some questions about the knife and wanted to make sure everything would be perfect, because the knife was an expensive piece ($1700).

On April 6th 2014, the knife was still IN STOCK on the page. It meant that I could add it to cart and purchase, but I saw a review under the Reviews section and this review was written by a customer on October 28th 2013. As every knife collector knows, MSC knives are sold out fast all the time, so I asked myself some questions "how the heck has this piece been in stock for more than 5 months?", "if it is real, is the knife a new piece from the maker?", "is it razor sharp like it is said in the description?"

I sent them an e-mail and asked questions with a polite way, and guess what? The next day was on April 7th 2014. The knife's status was OUT OF STOCK, and I was like "Wow, what a coincidence here! It has been there, IN STOCK for more than 5 months, and after you guys read my e-mail, you guys immediately changed it to OUT OF STOCK", and until today, April 9 2014, knifeart.com still doesn't reply my e-mail.

I don't know why. I mean if the status "IN STOCK" of the knife had been just a technical mistake on their website, they could have just replied my e-mail and said that, but they ignored my e-mail.

And now I ask myself one more question, "what if I added that $1700 knife to cart and purchased it without sending them the e-mail?"

I will never do business with them, even though they have nice knives, it doesn't make up for their bad customer service.

Just in case, if someone who is working for knifeart.com reads my post, I don't need you to reply my e-mail anymore.

I've purchased several Striders, CRKs, and a William Henry from Knifeart. Every transaction was effortless, shipping was fast and I found their customer service to be outstanding.

Just my personal experiences with them.......

I've purchased a WC Starbenza from them and got the knife a few days later (yesterday) in Cape Town, South Africa ... no problems whatsoever. My first purchase from them and I have no reason to complain. Will use them again.

If it looks like a coinkydink maybe it is. You've got nothing tangible to complain about other than a lost email. Give a guy a break, maybe you'll get one back from miss karma :)

My buddy ordered both his CRK's from them and had zero problems. I'll likely be ordering from them today or tomorrow.

Ordered many high end knives from them , never a problem, fast shipping too ! Will continue to do business !

I have had identical experiences to Blues and Steelymonster...terrible customer service, did not return emails and were very rude when talked to them on the phone. I requested that the knives be inspected for certain attributes and all came with problems...they DO NOT like returns. I will NEVER do business with Rodney again. Very disappointed in a company based in the same state as AG Russell.

I had an overall great experience from Knifeart both times I ordered. The first time Larry actually called me to make sure that the address that I put down was correct, and I received a shipment notification email about 30 minutes later.

I've ordered two knives from Knifeart and they were as described, they were shipped promptly and overall the experience was top-notch!! I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again....

Unresponsive customer service. Will stick with GPknives and bladehq who are extremely prompt and responsive.

Update: Larry has bent over backwards and I'm ultimately happy with the interaction. Will continue to use Knifeart as an option to order from!

I have always had a great experience with KnifeArt. We also just had a major holiday and I think Bladeshow is this weekend they could be unusually busy with that.

Best of luck.

I don't think this could be considered a bad experience. You notified them, they fixed the error.

IF you had tried to order it, maybe it would have failed. If not, maybe they would have explained that it's not actually in stock, refunded and apologized. etc.

I've seen a lot of businesses post a PSA explaining why they will be unresponsive (ie. attending SHOT/SOFIC) or suspending sales till they return.

I'm going to wait a little bit before posting more information to give things a chance to work out.

I went ahead and ordered the knives I was going to get through knifeart from bladehq and gpknives and they were responsive, helpful and incredibly fast shippers as always.

I've dealt with knife art before . Like some of you I placed my order and got my knife has described all that was well .

I went back to purchase again but had some questions . I emailed knife art with a few questions and got the same attitude as some did in this thread . I got talked down to a little bit and overall whoever I was communicating with just came off as a smart ass know it all for lack of a better description.

I didn't bother replying to his hateful email I took my business elsewhere and have avoided ever since .

I will say they shipped fast and the knife I did buy was perfect ,had I never had questions I'd probably still be dealing with them to be honest. I prefer to deal with someone that doesn't mind questions though.
