Evening fellas! This week is kickin my butt. Still two more days in my 6 day week, then I get to take the wife to the City for a fun relaxing weekend! I made only one stipulation for the weekend, dinner has to be at my favorite french restaurant. Probably my all time favorite place too. Quiet, small, the menu is simple and changes seasonally, and you can never unerstand the servers due to their heavy french accents. All dishes are paired with wine expertly and its reasonably priced, usually $40-50/plate. Ok, I'm excited about it, I'm rambling, lol...

Got 18 hours of freezing rain. Took the pup out for a drive tonight and it started sleeting. I am wayyyy over this weather!

Bobby, Ive already decided which camera im taking, the Leica, so I think 4-6 rolls of film a day should cover it.

Kevin, actually the hanger steak with pomme frites is a great one, and the escargo with angel hair, fresh bread and cheese is to die for! Another great dish there is the sping greens with hot walnut encrusted feta and home made vinegrette. So there's your fries and bread!

Home halfway early tonight. Chicken molé and fideo for dinner.

Not many have made it into the wild... the shop is a harsh environment! I need to nurture this new one with some carbide, a ceramic detent bearing and a good sharpening then I will release it. :D

I'm finishing up the framelock and working on some random projects today. I'm hoping to cut some scale materials for the A2 tantos too. :D
 
welp, weather is insane... cold fronts trapped.. and we are getting nailed... snow came... with force..

I love this webcam, its on a college building pointing East down Monroe ave where there are lots of good eats and a few bars.. And its realtime live motion picture oOOOOooo

and I live 5miles west of there and about 400ft higher on a hillside on the edge of a large forest... we have.. about 4inches since 5am... and its dumping still.. temp out is 18F but at our house its about 15F..

Going to be "build a sled ramp" down the back yard type of day :D

Daniel, PICTURES FOR ME? :D And lemme see those A2 tantos in hand.. what scale material?? do a modern version with some gitd inserts or something different :D

It's a beauty of a day here in SE Mass. The snow we had looks pristene in the woods. So, it's time strap on the LL Bean hunting boots and go for a walk in the woods and take some pix. I'll be taking my Bark River medium hunter (just in case of the odd attack squirril). Oh, and I just rec'd notice of my 45th High Skool reunion in Oct. ! Damn
 
Morning fanatics!

I realized yesterday that I actually have a 3 day weekend! WooHoo! But, there is a Pineapple Express hitting the coast tonight, all day Saturday and Sunday! :eek: Its gonna be a wet weekend in the City! I'm rethinking my camera choice, I might go for a compact rangefinder, probably my Yashica Electro 35 GSN. Its a wonderfull little camera, fast lens, incedibly sharp, quick to use and I can easily pack it under my jacket to keep it dry.

One good thing about it being a stormy weekend, there are plenty of nice hotels with rooms for cheap available!

I am still inundated at work. Stayed late last night fixing some issues. They just expanded today. I wonder if lunch is in Jeopardy D:
 
Well, the nice thing about a Pineapple Express is they come from west/south/west and aren't full of cold air like the typical alaskan born storms we get, so it will be in the high 40's-low 50's still. The ski resorts are all stoked about this storm, they have been getting by on man made snow since mid-November, and its warmed up so its all iced over now.

Xander, at this rate you are going to be older than me pretty soon. Happy B- day bro! I stopper having B-days a few years ago. :rolleyes:
 
Ugg. -15F (-27C-ish) this morning on top of the last round of snow we got, meant my commute took over 90 minutes (about double what it normally is). Then my wife called to tell me the car died on her after she got our son to school, and AAA gave her a 2.5 hour wait on the tow. So our weekend plans (and depending on what's wrong with the car, my intended knife purchases) may be kaput - we'll see.

Hope the rest of you are warm and dry.

Xander - I can't remember which Leica you have. If it's an M, take it instead of the GSN... not enough difference in size to warrant the change and it won't be bothered by a little damp.
 
Crazy busy day! Cannot WAIT for the weekend. Gym, Grinding, and Truck hunting. Looking to trade in my Mazda. She's too small!

Enjoy that weather guys. I imagine we'll get some of it sometime. Today is nice and sunny. Help melt the mountains and mountains of snow that buried us!

I have taken the last day and a half off to get caught up around here... I had to spend the morning doing snow removal and am worn out! My plan for the afternoon includes pics (if the snow stops) and final touches on the framelock.
 
Grinder ordered. And now we play the waiting game! Finally be able to get rid of the dang Grizzly Daniel! lol

Dude this crazy snow stinks right? It's been destroying any hopes of plans for us here!

Very eager to see that Framelock dude. I know it's gonna look fantastic!
 
Kevin, I'll never be older than you! Besides, these are all anniversaries of my 29th now :D

Liam, I have an R4 with 50 summicron. Not quite as compact as the gsn.

We have 13inches in 2 days here.. unbelievable... Hasn't stopped since it started again this early morning.. still going...

Weird assed weather this year and weird colds/flu/allergies/infections... meh 2013 sucked, 2014 is off to beat it at this pace.. WHICH BEST QUIT..

Hope all are warm, healthly enough, and content :)
