Football - meh. I was a band geek. We had the best partys around! All the jocks wanted to come to our partys. Met the wife way back then, she was in guard. Lots of good times. Oh, I did get involved with one sport in high school, I was the captain of the sailing team, and the only one to take it seriously... :-/

Had a hectic day at work, one of the primary work stations crapped out Saturday night and finlly got it replaced today, all while it was busy, had tons of purchase orders to write and only one cashier. Also had a very large female pit bull come trotting in the store today, no tags, not fixed, no collar, no microchip. She was every bit of 80#, a bit older and thankfully very sweet. She eventually wandered back off to the street after about 7 hours of hanging out in the store, lol! Hope she finds her way back home!

lol I was in the band too! small school... one year we marched for our own halftime shows!

I played drums... all of them. lol

I also ran the 400 and Pole Vaulted... l did so many extra-curricular activities I was voted "Most Likely to be Absent" lmao!!!!

Sounds fun! I was one of the smaller guys to play on the line but had a blast. Small town Texas football, lol good times.

Are you splitting lots or cutting up downed trees? I cut a few year before last that are needing to be processed. Time for a new chainsaw here, my Stihl seems to have bit the dust. We're mostly using a maul to break down larger rounds...
 
High school? Ughh... what a hangover/drughangover...

Hmmm I participated in ditching every pep assembly but one over the course of 4yrs.. Puked on my desk in French class, passedout and fell on my face in the hall another time.. it gets worse too :D sold acid to the football captain and star running back... OH about French class, I was in the French club.. but if you were in the class, you were in the club.. lol so it wasn't by my choice...

I also was in the business club, worked part time, class over at 11am, my senior year of HS I was making about $1500 a month as a 17 yr old in the 80s, BOOYAH..

Basically a freak in a tie :)

Ahhh the lack of memories, I love em :D
 
Morning guys!

Gonna be a rough day, haven't worked a Tuesday in a while, we get out big shipments today, normally around 9 pallets worth all broken down and stocked by hand. Its good exercize, though I tweaked my back yesterday and have been a little sore this morning. But, I do have Saturday and Sunday off this coming weekend for my birthday, I think the wife and I are going to head over to S.F. again. My favorite city in the world, Chicago is a close second but the cold makes me shiver just thinking about it!

I wish I could go to work on California time and clock out on East coast time.... I don't even clock in until 11:45. But, I guess being the closing manager ain't too bad though.


Sloth, sounds like we hung in the same circles in HS, lol. Spent the majority of my sophomore year as an inmate at Golden Valley detention/continuation (I guess they don't like knives at school, never got that one back either :mad:), then ended up leaving school my senior year after sugeries #3,4,5 and spending too much time in hospital. Missed half of freshman year because of surgeries too. So, all in all, I spent approx 2.5 years at my HS! Hated every minute of it too. Funny, I worked my junior and senior year as well, I was bringing in around $1700/month, self employed.

More snow forcasted for tonight and the weekend. They're saying end result of yesterday through the weekend ~25". wtf.

Good morning all my little rays of sunshine. Sleep like a log , woke up sneezing like a ........uh ,I don't know, what sneezes a lot? haha.
Bobby , If you could figure out a way to pack and ship all that snow to the California ski resorts ,you would be a rich man !
Daniel, Your HS stories always crack me up. It gives me visions of you running around putting on different hats for all the different jobs/positions. BTW, did Sarah ever start doing that super strong heat treated glass ?

Daniel- I cut dead trees, standing or on the ground. This dead wood throws off very hot heat in our wood stove. When the stove is hot, it'll even burn up green wood. I like to throw in some green when I back the stove down for the night. This way, I have a good bed of coals in the morning.

HS was funny... small school so even us metal heads were involved. :D

No glass yet, we are still waiting on the O2 concentrator I ordered in October. We could get a tank but have been pretty busy... need a spot for the glass as it is more involved than we anticipated. My neighbor is related to a famous glass artist and renovated a school bus for a shop! all metal so nothing to burn...

Good morning! Sounds like a plan with the wood, cool stuff. I must have a million trees on my land here and wood is no problem... this summer I want to thin out the smaller trees around my place to let some light in. I also want to gather some pinion wood, it burns very hot.


I'm hoping to have a folder finished up today, I worked on it until late yesterday. I woke up way too early thinking about it, like a kid at Christmas. lol

It's still dark and about 5 F out! chilly! It's been snowing for days now but we haven't gotten much, maybe 4-6 inches.
 
See what happens when I go to bed before midnight for two nights in a row?! I turn into a pumpkin and wake up at a respectable hour.

Hi guys, 1st time on this thread. I live near Boston and it's snowing to beat the band. I'm retired and I miss my daily walk. I live in a condo and they do all the snow removal. Heck I mite go out anyway.

Daniels gonna need to post a hojillion pictures to get us through this winter weather, me thinks.
 
We got rid of our last wood burning stove a few months ago. We had 2 of them. Now we are replacing one of them with a propane burning stove. I got sick of chopping wood and the smoke in the house/bad breathing condition. Keeping it going.. I have too much to do to worry about keeping a wood fire going. Plus, it's not like we get crazy winters here that often or that long.. Though right now we are in another cold snap.

The propane stove will work in power outages (that is key), and provide enough warmth for the two big rooms at this end of the house. Otherwise its all heat pump or heat strips when its below 40F.

Hi funsize, welcome.. retired and in a condo... that is my dream... My grandfather and pops both had/have.. but it was in southern Florida on the beach... Eff the snow unless you ski/ride :D

Nobody is buying knives.. I want to get rid of some cheap and unused knives and nobody wants them! My knife fund is LOW and I need to be ready for .... DFK knives coming up!

Ok, littest is sick as hell, going to doctor.. bye!

Bobby, ain't no rest for the wicked! The last ice storm I was in involved a bucket of ice water keeping the beer cold being dumped on me...and this winter weather is just terrible :D

Funsize, welcome! Funny, that's my wifes nickname, she's not even 5' tall.

Rofl, get to choppin'! How much wood could a choppin' rofl chop if a choppin' rofl could chop wood?


Burnin up some film today, actual film! Its too cold to work in the shop this morning, its about 46*F out there now!
