^ That's awesome!

I'm in on break and reek of micarta dust and ironwood, it's kind of a chemical factory meets tequila spill that somehow rotted. :D I had to change t-shirts just to rest!

There is nothing that smells exactly like ironwood... lol!

Yeah rock on!!!! Went to the local microbrewery outlet and the had Pumking on tap!!! It's March! Rock on!!! Filled a growler and had a few pints while I waited. Life is good :)

Daniel sometimes you need a shower and a change of clothing! I know that helps me when i'm covered in dust!

Try snakewood, that's some nasty stuff. Apparently I am allergic to it, touched it to the disc grinder for a few seconds without a mask once, could barely breathe and my throat swelled almost shut for 3 days after! Contact seems to be fine, but it also has a nasty habit of igniting if you get it too hot while working. I think it should be called devilwood, it's some crazy stuff. Polishes up like glass though, with no finish!

Got a new toy today, should be fun! Not what I wanted, but I came across a deal I just couldn't pass up. (Sloth, don't hate bro)

TANTOS! Cool. I am not a maker by any means buy I do have some Mahogony I was given in Carriacou by a local furniture maker, I should send it your way, it's one of those things I have to defend when spring cleaning comes around that I'm never going to use.

Just in from more sanding and a much needed shower! :D

Xander that is sweet! 1250 fps doesn't play.

Rev Otto that would be killer! The origin is the best part to me... maybe I can make you something with it too!

I worked on the tantos all day today and they are looking great! I'll get some pics tomorrow morning when the dust clears.

I also have a field knife in S7/Bowie configuration with green canvas micarta, red then black liners. This group is coming out spectacular! Tomorrow will be glue-up on most with the Ironwood not far behind.

Xander - I've heard mixed things on the Gamo's I'll be curious to hear your impressions.

Interesting about working with snakewood - it is pretty stuff, I've nearly bought a few knives with that as a scale material. No idea it was so tough to work with.

To really make a gamo shine, they need trigger work and like all springer guns they need a tune up. Look up Charliedatuna and his trigger mods. So far this is a good little gun, light weight, weather proof, will make a nice field gun.

I love snake wood looks, but it was a tough lesson to find out the hard way! Many woods cause allergic reactions in people, typically the rose woods and other oily woods. I may use some again on a knife, it is some tough stuff for sure!

Cool - I'm pretty happy with my Beeman, until I can justify an upgrade to one of the RWS magnums, for a field/hunt rifle. My only issue is it's a break-barrel, so a decent strap is a difficult proposition (no good place to mount a real one on the front...)

I still want to get one of the Avanti competition models too - for when my son is a bit older and I can teach him position/precision rifle. They seem to offer a lot of precision for the buck.

Check out the Flying Dragon Air rifles Xisico XS28M, it's a high quality copy of the Diana 350 magnum, fully tuned and ready to go it'll only set you back $250ish. It's what I was saving my pennies for, but this deal came along for $90.00 on a members only two day sale with coupon. Couldn't pass it up. Retails for 220.

sloth, I see you down there thinking up something snarky...

Cool - It looks like they have a copy of the RWS/Diana 460 magnum (the XS46U), as well. Which is what I am looking at. I'll do some reading - if it has a good trigger set, that might be worth it.

Mike Mellik is one of the best tuners in the industry, also any flying dragon rifle carries a lifetime guarantee that stays with the rifle, not the original purchaser. Bought new or used, it's guaranteed.

Friday!!!

Cocobolo is known to be irritating to most, I have ground some a few times and it is just like cutting onions... but a whole body itch/irritation. Funky stuff!

You guys have a good one! Yesterday was a very productive day in the shop and I have a lot planned for today. I'm on a roll with design too and have drawn up two new folders in the last two days! They have a ways to go but are going very quickly.

Xander, nice score! I still have my old Gamo Hunter 440 in .177. It has always done well for me , but I am a recreational shooter. Reading these posts and looking through that Flying Dragon site gave me the strong urge to do some shooting today. So Xander, if you want to come by today and do a little plinking , shoot me a email. My phone is still broken.
I'm glad I read the posts about the Cocobolo and Snakewood ! I never really used wood for handles before and I have a request to use snakewood.I will be sure to suit up properly!
Y'all have a good Friday and a great weekend!
Daniel, I sent you a email, no rush ,just a heads up.

Had a nice conversation with Mike - I'll be ordering the XS46U at some point soon. Meets my needs best - it seems. Not really a 460 clone, but I do prefer the under lever cocking, over the break barrel. I'll get a peep sight mounted on it, and have a new field gun. Heavy, but not too bad. Thanks for the recommendation, Xander.

Now I just need to find a good place to go shooting. :/

First things first. I need to finish building my website, and get more client work. Then my wife won't be as angry when I order new toys. :D

In the true enabling fashion that is tradition on BFC, your welcome! :D it really is hard to beat the price and quality that Mike offers. I know you'll enjoy it.

Kevin, working today, no shooting :( But I did find time to go have some machaca again this morning

I was just blasting the tangs of some tantos and the Aluminum tube between my compressor pump and tank exploded sending flaming hot metal shrapnel all over my shop! I just about dove for cover and cut my hand pulling it out of the blast cab! The pipe blew at head level and got me but it only scared me... wtf!

Pics later, this is just ridiculous!
