It would take more than flaming hot shrapnel to take Daniel out. lol Really though, I hope you are OK ! When you replace that pipe use steel .......or maybe Ti . You could anodize it ! :D
Oh yeah , pics or it didn't happen. :D

Hope it didn't trigger any flashbacks! Good to hear you're alive. Wouldn't want to find a post on here from you that something blew up and you got taken out. Glad your time spent training with the Shao Lin monks has kept your reflexes lightning quick!

-X

I'm fine! I am still a bit rattled though, lol!

I have pics of the pipe, I can't believe it blew up! I was not hurt at all besides a very small cut... merely a flesh wound!

There was literally metal on fire... some got me in the head but it only scared me, lol! The Aluminum feels crumbly, no good stuff for sure... I'm calling Husky and hopefully get a free replacement. Otherwise it's only $17 for a replacement. I could care less about the price but I want my blast cab up and running ASAP.

The only thing that bugs me is that I can't blast tangs and stuff! I was on a roll with the tantos. :D I finished some other stuff instead with a new hand rubbed brushed style finish.

I;
'm glad you are ok, Daniel.
Husky better NOT charge you a dime!

Thanks, at least my job is exciting!

My Dad was in the Mekong Delta during the peak of the Vietnam war... I once told him I didn't like my propane tank so close to my house and he says... oh that't no big deal, were hiding behind one during a firefight and it was hit and exploded... wasn't really so bad.

:D lol not so bad!!!

Holy crap. Glad you are ok.

You should embed some of the shrapnel in resin handles, and do a special commemorative edition. :D

Suuuuuper glad yuz OK Daniel! Do you think that is why Husky calls it the BLAST cabinet ? :D
LoL about yer Pops !
We had 14 of those big propane tanks ( the ones people run their whole house on , 100 gal.?) on the deck of the boat I was on. We were heading to Alaska from California. There was this guy I called Manny the Greek,he was a mysterious dude. Anyway, I walked out on deck to make my rounds and there is Manny the Greek smoking a ....uh cigarette , while sitting on top of one of the 14 FULL big a$$ propane tanks! I totally freak out , try to explain that if one of those tanks has the smallest of leaks ,we would be literally blown out of the water! His reply, " eeeeh it's OK..." NO! It is not OK! Manny was a crazy duuuuude! I have many stories about hanging out with that dude.

Lol, them Greeks are a strange folk. Kevin, you remember that customer from the bike shop, George the greek? I have some crazy stories about being on his own boat. I sailed with him exactly twice. Never again.

When I was designing things that go boom for the military, there was a metals transfer yard about 1/4 mile away from the lab. Well, one day I'm at my desk and then BOOOOOOOOOM!!! The building shook, my monitors flickered, small things fell from shelves. My desk was across the hall from the security room and I could see all the security monitors, I did a quick check of the perimiter...nothing. Outbound cameras switched on, and nothing in 3 directions, get to the 4th and I see a large mushroom cloud rising

I run out to the side checkpoint and make sure it's clear to go out side, I run to the edge of the lot and see it is close, looks like right in the middle of the metals yard. I hop in my truck and drive over that way, I get there before emergency vehicles to see a 5 ton forklift on its side 30 yards from where their propane refuel station was!! I guess something happened while refilling one of the forklifts. It was one of those 15 foot high tanks like at the gas station. Now it was just a 20 foot crater. Only one person died. Seriously crazy explosion!

Daniel, next time this happens in your shop you need to film it:D

Finally left the hospital, a few days entered by an infection.
There's nothing like a few days in the hospital to have clear ideas and wallet empty.
To forget the misfortune, bought a Victorinox Hiker and Vic Electrician to retire the old one.
good and greetings to all

Thanks everyone! I still can't believe that happened.

Thanks Strong, thanks Liamstrain!

Kermmak I hope you are doing OK, that sounds rough! We're rooting for you here. Hey those are cool knives at least! :D

Xander my old title was "second realist maker in the game" so I'll keep it really real. :D

FBC that's awesome! You should see the Propane truck try to make it up my driveway, it usually takes several attempts and becomes good entertainment out here on the mountain. Kinda scary too! The last guy tried to go up backwards at full speed!

I might go look into a way to fix my compressor as I use it for just about everything... maybe other stuff instead... I know I will be busy today! :D

Be careful with the seafood .... What goes by the North can get (very fast) to the south.
And the hospital food is not food, it's dog food.
Daniel beware that compressor repair is expensive and dangerous. Good luck and good hands.
I'm ok, I think my VISA has suffered a heart attack.
Riot a new knife IS ALWAYS GOOD NEWS.

Have a great Sunday, DFK Gang!
I'm glad you were not hurt, Daniel. This cudda been bad.
rolf

Daniel, Let's get a vid of that propane truck thing. haha! Glad yuz is doin good !
Kermmak, I'm glad you lived! I thought the U.S. was the only country that had crazy high medical costs. I think you better buy one more knife. It sounds like it was traumatic. Better make this one a DFK! That will take your mind off of all things bad for sure. :D
Xander, mo money , mo knives or cameras or guns or or or :D
Rolf , whaaaaaaaat up!
Liam , I like the handle idea.
Strong , Howdy there.
Where is that Bobby ? Hope you're in the shop makin' sparks!
In FBC news , I think I finished my best knife yet! wooo hoooo. I don't want to sell it ! But Jen is gonna make me , she's sooooooo mean! lol. My new policy is hand sand until my fingers lock up like gonna do some kind of crazy martial arts move where you rip someones heart out of their chest, then hand sand some more. haha
Y'all have a great Sunday!

Capo my insurance pays 90% of expenses, but only medical expenses.
For three days of "hotel" I paid € 1200, almost a month's salary.
Not only the USA has expensive health costs.
I already like one DFK, not permitted the importation of knives. I have to talk to my father and I'll try from my Spanish address.
Hopefully all goes well.
The owner of the airgun who is? Gamo is a great brand, I own a Gamo Hunter 440 .177 caliber for hunting rats and small game is very good and that the mine is limited to .305 m.s.
I've hunted fox and crow over 40 m.
regards

P.d CAPO PICS OF THE NEW KNIFE

FBC the propane guys said my driveway is legendary... I believe it!

Kermmak I hope you recover in all ways soon!

Thanks Rolf!

Here's a pic of the blown out compressor line...

Kermmak, I just bought that Gamo Shadow 1250 in .177. It's my first Gamo, but I do like Spanish air guns. I have a Norica 83 target pistol that is quite accurate. Next I think I'm going to get a Cometa to round out my Spanish fleet. I think Kevin has a hunter 440...
