KnifeWorks Ti/G10 Spyderco Military-Depositors sound off!

I missed this thread the first time around. My money went in a few months ago.

Although I prefer the axis lock, I appreciate the elegant simplicity of the titanium framelock. Furthermore, G10 is the gold standard or synthetic handle materials. Micarta offers more variety, but doesn't match the durability of G10. M4 is a hard-wearing steel that is particularly suited to a thin slicer like the flat-ground Military. The knife is pure function. Moreover, it is a tremendous value.

I'm surprised that there are so few members here that have raised their hand to indicate that they are on the list. With all the threads about Striders, Sebenzas, and hard-use folders, I would have expected everyone to have been clamoring for a place in line. Am I missing something?

I got my deposit in. The reason everyones so quite is because there isn't even a prototype picture up so there's not a ton to talk about yet. However it should be shipping some time this month and then I guarantee there will be a TON of interest. I personally expect this knife to have the most demand out of any Spyderco sprint in recent years. Probably about like the s90v cf Manix 2 or a bit more. Either way I'm excited, this will actually be my first Military. I love my d2 para but have yet to experience the full size.

:( Every time I see one of these G10/Ti Military threads pop up, my hopes sky rocket. Damn you all for breaking my heart.

I got one, but I expect these will increase in price as soon as the last knife leaves dealers, just like ALL spyderco sprint runs. Lets be honest, people pretty much scalp them.

Yeah. It's a shame that some people who are buying these are only in it to flip them and make a quick profit, rather than use it to its full potential. No safe queen for me, mine will be an EDC knife.

I hate this thread :p Wasnt fortunate to sign on for this model. Looks like these will have to do, poor me :(

About a month or two ago,I bought a S90V/CF Military off the exchange. It was just too big for my taste.I sold it the next day.

I just talked to Roger & asked him if it was ok if I backed out of this one.He said "no problem at all".I felt pretty crappy for doing it,but didn't want to buy it only to flip it.I said I realize I'd be forfeiting my deposit, but Roger insisted on giving me store credit for it.What a class act that guy is.
He also said that he's planning on getting a few cancellations on these. That's just the way things go on pre-orders.So all of you who didn't get in early, there's still hope for you.

Have some patience!

I would rather get a perfect knife in August than get it in July and have to send it back because it isn't up to QC standards due to rushing to meet a deadline.

Well, maybe if this thread had not been "hidden" in the GB&U section it would gotten more exposure. It actually belongs in the Spyderco forum together with the other M4 Millie threads.

Add me to the list... I put my deposit in on day 1 of the email. I'm looking forward to it, I just received my Ti RIL and like the other Miltary's i have It's just such a big knife for EDC in the city.

I've been breaking in my Para 2, so that's my EDC for the moment (still like the D2 Para better personally) and it's a very nice knife.

Anyone hear anything about when these'll be out?
Nothing beyond this.
