Let me throw this out here.

Is is wrong to buy a chinese copy of a Tachyon?
There will not be any more tachyons made. Microtech and Mike Turber have already received all the money they ever will get from these.
Mike Turber had originally planned to "rip off" his own design by having chinese companies make cheap versions of his knife, even though that kind of bit him in the a$$.

What about buying a Jaguar "classic"? Why shouldn't people just hunt down an original Benchmade 259? Is is OK to buy the ripoffs after the original is out of production?

IMHO, i say there is no problem with it, didnt the jaguar classic design become public domain or was bought off of benchmade or something like that?

Most people dont know that these are rip off's. They flip them for a week and find out they have no warranty service hotline or email. They either a) throw it away b) give it away c) fix it. if they keep it and decide to fix it guess where they show up. They type in the Google bar: Fix knuckleduster butterfly knife. guess where it leads them too eventually. I do not condone buying these knowingly. I bought a CCC last year cause it flipped better than the loose zamak handled AWMA Inc balisong I got previously. I didn't know it was a Microtech knock off.

Point taken:rolleyes: ... I didn't really mean to take the soapbox here. I was just trying to back Doug up. But here is my response anyway...

Neither of those we're custom knives. The 259's were POS to start off with.
Are the Tachyons ok to buy? Maybe they are some special case. I havn't read those threads in a while. Still not a custom knife.
Fact is, the "Knuckleduster" the Guardian Angel clones and others are obviously stolen designs.

Threads asking about specific business dealings with specific dealers are usually best done in The GB&U forum rather than the Balisong Forum.

I've ordered from Knifezilla 3 times. Twice I have received knives similar to what I ordered, but not what I ordered. Careless? A little bit of calculated risk-taking - the chances of a return are low? I don't know, and it doesn't matter anymore. The slow delivery time and high likelihood of having to return something lost my business. I wouldn't say he cheated me, and I have no reason to think he's not a decent person, but if I'm going to wait 3 or 4 weeks to get something I didn't order, I'd rather buy elsewhere. Just an FYI from one person for those seeking out info on Knifezilla.

before i ordered my knife, i emailed the owner of knifezilla to ask for some advice and recommendations. with very quick replies, he helped me pick out my knife. i ordered a boker magnum from him and payed for the standard 7 day ground shipping. to my delight, he had the knife shipped to my door step in only 4 days!!! the knife is solid, no play, the spring mechanism is superb, and it locks up nice and tight with a satisfieing crack. if i ever order another knife, im going to order it from pvk.

Josh, who owns Knifezilla, is not a reliable businessman.......plain and simple.
He's had a dubious reputation going back a few years. From my own experiences with him I would suggest staying away.

That hasn't been my experience with them at all. Three orders in the past two months or so and everything went fine. Communication is good and there is no back order nonsense. E-mail replies have been prompt.
