Probably somewhere in-between. The pull loops are made I think for boot hooks of which I don't have any. Took a bit of wiggling at first to get my big knife maker sausage fingers in the pull loops. Once I did, I could get them on fairly easily. I always used a boot jack to get them off. They have broken in too with time and are easier now then they were to pull on.Dave, tight as in a fight to get your foot into the boot or just snug?
I tried two different styles of Tecovas and could not get my foot into the boot. Glad Tecovas has great customer service and took both pair back.
Thanks for the information on these boots
We have an old western store down in Bakersfield called The Emporium. Been there since 1919. They carry the Hyers in stock. I was able to ask them about what folks thought about them and it was very positive. I also tried on a couple of pairs. I ended up buying directly from Hyer off of their website as The Emporium would have had to order my 11.5 size anyway. They shipped quickly and with free shipping.
They were tight don't get me wrong, but not a struggle tight. Hold onto them loops and push down and stand up at the same time, pop in goes your foot. I would buy again. Hope that helps
These are Twisted Xs that I now use as shop boots. Couple of new sheets of AEB-L came in yesterday afternoon.
