Happy Lord’s Day!

Today is the 5160 oak Buck 112 and the Lone Wolf Knives Paul Executive in 3D Carbon Fiber, since J jfk1110 brought up Lone Wolf Knives yesterday in another thread.

This is the only Lone Wolf Knife I own. I was completely unaware of the company. Around 2008 I was attending the annual Modern Day Marine tradeshow in Quantico, VA for work meetings. In between the booths of companies I had business with was a small booth with a table of knives. I spent some time talking with the gentleman, and when he put the Paul Knife in my hands, I fell in love with it and told him I would take it. He looked at me funny and explained that they weren’t setup to sell anything (which I knew). It’s a tradeshow targeting decision makers from Marine Corps Systems Command, the Corps’ acquisition branch, to put technologies and solutions on their radar - not to sell things to individuals. I more or less told the gentleman I wasn’t leaving without that knife. It was the afternoon of the last day of the show and most were already starting to pack up. He made a phone call asking the office. When he hung up, he gave me a price, and wrote my credit card info on a scrap of paper so the secretary could run it when he got home.

And that’s the story of my only Lone Wolf Knife, and my first Paul Knife.

Was that the year they closed the trade show one day early as a Hurricane was heading that way? I remember everyone scrambling to get their booths closed, packed and on the road. John

You’re probably thinking of Hurricane Isabel in 2003, about 5-ish years before the year I bought this knife.

Cool yarn...Makes it a forever knife!!!😉

Happy Monday (evening)!

First time trying my wife’s Rooibos-based - and consequently decaffeinated - cinnamon chai. I’m drinking it with a little honey but no milk or cream the way she doctors it.

Not bad. An acceptable warm evening tea when you’re trying to limit caffeine throughout the day.

Happy Tuesday!

This morning is Harney & Sons Earl Grey Supreme. The “supreme” means the classic black tea and bergamont also has some oolong and white tea blended in.

The tea, and some of my wife’s bread and an egg ought to keep me till lunch.

Mike! Mike Mike Mike. Guess what day it is, Mike! C’mon, say it…

It’s Hump Day - Happy Wednesday!

If you don’t keep up with current events in the Buck Knives Inc. Buck Knives Inc. sub-forum, there was some discussion between the aluminum vs glass-filled nylon handle variants of the new Range series, and the pros and cons of each. Mo had done a YouTube video review of the plastic Pro version so I loaned him an aluminum Elite version to also review and compare. He carved this Dude with it and shipped it home to me; it arrived yesterday.

The carving takes 3+ hours of use, and he’s carved a lot of Dudes (and a growing number of Stick Chicks) with a lot of knives, so his feedback is worth something to folks.

Thanks for the Dude and the video review, J justsaymo !

Happy Thursday!

I didn’t try to get into my building with my car key fob like I did yesterday, so I’d say we’re off to a good start. That, and this cup of Lipton is just about to the perfect temperature.
