Knives from movies, games and books, etc.

Let's share the knife models you recognize and identify from movies, games and books, with photos.
These are the knives I recognize from the famous scene in the movie John Wick:

Cold Steel Safe keeper 2
benchmade balisong 62
Microtech combat troodon
Microtech Halo V S/E OTF S/A Black coated
benchmade 176bk socp
Gerber mark 1
cold Steel spike
Emerson the combat carambit
Cold Steel Double Agent 1
Cold Steel Black Talon Serrated
Cold Steel Tiger Claw

The blade of the compound grind knife next to the black talon looks similar to the Marfione Custom Knives LUDT compound, but the handle is different and the one on the top far left could be Emerson. The one on the far right looks like a strider.

[No spoilers] An out the front (OTF) tanto knife was also featured in the post credits scene of John Wick 4. Not sure of the make or model though.

I couldn't possibly list all of the knives I've seen and recognized in movies/tv/etc, we're talking several decades worth.

But just for fun, here is a group pic from the movie "Exposure", also known as "The Knife", "High Art", "A Grande Art", starring Peter Coyote (1991). This was a frequent "what knife is that?" topic years ago. There are also a few other knives featured in the movie, including a Spyderco Police, and a Randall (not pictured).

I already know all of them, but I'll let others play "What knife is that?".

High Art was a great movie. The trainer made a good choice.

A few others :).

The "Warrior Woman" (Virginia Hey). An Anton Wingen Jr. Othello stag handle bowie.

Max's folding knife/can opener that dangles from his belt. He used it to open the can of dog food. A Sheffield British Army rigging knife.

In the scene where "Wez" is getting his head shaved, I believe the knife used is a Buck 119. No screen shot.

And of course there was the machete "Max" had hidden under his car. But I have no idea what brand it is. And the paraplegic mechanic used a fixed-blade to cut a water bag open when he was on fire, but it looks like a common carving knife.

Yeah, I've seen the movie a few times. It was a favorite of my youth, and very influential :).

The Sheffield was also an Australian army issued knife.

The Fan - Robert DeNiro is a knife salesman and deranged baseball fan: Gerber EZ-Out and EZ-Out Jr., Cold Steel Tanto (or knockoff).

Out of Sight - Michael Keaton uses a Spyderco Jess Horn to cut an apple (very briefly).

Payback - Mel Gibson has a Spyderco Viele, which is shown briefly.

Charlie's Angels (2000 movie) - Victorinox SAK (shown briefly at a drive-thru).

Insomnia - AL Pacino uses a Buck 503(?).

Martial Law ('90s TV series) - Victorinox SAK (Tinker?), used by main character, Sammo Law (Sammo Hung).

Below is the sporting goods store knife sales pitch scene in The Fan. The knives mentioned above are not in this scene:

Leon in the original Resident Evil 4 uses Mercworx Sniper or similar influenced knife. I believe Krauser (his nemesis in the game) also had similar knife.
In the remake Leon uses generic combat knife.

LOL

Commando is one of my favorite 80s movies. You have to feel bad for Vernon Wells, because he was a last minute replacement for the actor originally cast as Bennett. They didn't even really have time to change out the costume, so he was stuck wearing a costume meant for a bigger bad guy actor, and due to the last minute personnel change, Wells didn't have any time or opportunity to get into any kind of fighting shape. Dude did the best he could though, always loved that ending fightscene!

The dude made his career in assless chaps. I think he will manage.
