There are times when multiple emojis should be allowed. This would also get a WOW.

Thanks. I generally like non-stainless steel, but for what they will be used for, SS seemed to be the way to go.

Might be a while, though, until I hold my nose and put a scope on that .30-30. At the least, I will have to go to confession multiple times to get that sin off my soul. <grin> It is just wrong to put a scope on a lever gun.

But you already need confession for SS and laminate on a lever gun😁. Thick, swampy stuff, I might go aim point instead of traditional scope if an optic happens.
Truth be told, I would put an optic on it because my eyes are not what they used to be.

Eclipse Pro Target .45.

I have a carry permit, but don't feel any threat so I don't usually carry.

But, when you ride a motorcycle, sometimes people will mess with you, so when I ride a distance, that one is the one I carry. the holster has a pouch for a second magazine.
Very nice piece...👍 .....I hear ya!!!!!! Always best to remember everyone is out to get you on a motorcycle.....
Mostly just because they're oblivious🙄......Then I had a ball peen for the other.kind.....😜

I agree on the SS. Kinda sorta OK on the laminate. The old Marlin wood was mostly not so good looking, but it worked. Our old eyes help with the aesthetics.

I'm thinking about some sort of red dot holographic something or other, but not much more than looking at the ads n magazines. Long as I can still hit with it, that will be on the back burner.

Funny thing, it has a rail on the top of the receiver and that D@* thing is almost a foot long. I hate that stinking rail with a passionate intensity. But everything else is what I need for its purpose,so I hold my nose.

Never, not in my wildest hallucinations emanating from the happy mushroom patch would I have put that rail on it. I wish they would have drilled and tapped some holes on the receiver, and plugged them. I can figure it out from there.

"I before E except after C". That's weird.

I'm a pretty traditional guy ... especially when it comes to lever actions. I generally prefer and shoot open sights on most guns except a few long range bolt actions or squirrel rifles, but in recent years iron sights just aren't as crisp as I'd like anymore. I first went with a peep sight, but that was also getting difficult to use as my eyes aged.

I bought a Marlin 1894 SBL a few years back and I ended up mounting a Holosun 510 on it. And although I still would much prefer the rifle without it ... it has worked well for short range (120 yards and under). And it handles surprisingly well in thick cover.

I still prefer to use an older Marlin 1894 with open sights... (top picture) ... but the SBL with a Holosun 510 works well ... (2nd picture preinstall of the Holosun).

Good looking rifles. I have a couple bolt actions with scopes, but I still prefer open sights. That being said, I like the V notch. I know what everyone says about peephole sights, and I can use them, but I don't like them. For me, acquiring a moving target is a lot faster with the V notch.

I love that trapper style pocket knife. I had a Browning way back in the day that I thought was the best thing ever. It had a white and tan stag handle and I thought it would win any beauty contest.

Thanks for the OK about the Holosun. That was the primary one I had been thinking about. Laugh at me if you want, but below is a picture of the swamp (jungle) from our porch. Not a lot of opportunity for a long range shot <grin>

There's gators in them there waters, too. We've seen a few right off the deck, so we don't dangle our toes in the water.

That water screams gators. It is beautiful though.
Now I want an old school 336. I have no use for one other than to have, but ....

Yep. This guy was hanging out one afternoon about 12-15 feet off the end of our dock. Just checking out the neighborhood, but that is when you keep the dogs and kids out of the water. I've scuba dove with sharks and barracuda when I was young, generally they don't bother with you, but I don't share the water with a gator.

I wanted a 336, preferably genuine Marlin, pre-Remington, pre-safety, and pre-micro groove barrel, and looked all over the place, but something was wrong with every one I found. I'm sure there is one out there, good luck.

To me, .30-30 is ideal for Florida. Vegetation is pretty thick here and unless you are hunting a power line right-of-way, there are almost no long shots. But people, me included, persist in getting flat shooting rifles like .270, .308, and 7mm Mag. Thing is, long after you can't see, the bullet is still going unless they hit a tree. I'm OK with the old hunters, but the younger nimrods make me nervous, so I quit hunting, other than with my son or solo. Still love the woods, though.

Nice gator. I oversaw a job in the cooling lake at FP&L's plant in Parrish, FL. Divers did ok with 5-6 foot gators. Bigger than that and they were out of the water until we knew the gator had moved on or was trapped.
US 42, Tamiami trail was my favorite ride from Naples to Krome Avenue. I would stop at just about every road side park and take it in. I always had my G30 on me.

With a Tac Solutions fluted barrel. Very nice.
Looks like a modded Ruger 10/22.
Yes! With leapuld 2-7 optic. My family friend (almost like adopted son) is a Marine instructor for climbing and winter survival at Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Center up here. He stays with us every year when we make our way into the Bridgeport area. Both weapons are his. He saw my purple Stretch 2XL and wanted to take pictures. I need to find him one because he wouldn’t accept mine. 😎
