Knives in Action

This is turning into an awesome thread.

@ festerfromnzed: What is a SIKA? and how did you take that parrot? Pellet gun? Nice shots. I hadn't counted on any butchering shots here, but I'm not opposed to them either. ;)

Sika are a race of japanese deer (cervus nippon) that were liberated here in 1910 by lord Bledisloe...They are my preferred quarry..VERY! hard to hunt....I shot the parrot with a 22 at 60 metres...(in the ear)...FES

I am editing this to avoid the ugly logo that says my pictures are no longer available, because I am deleting some pictures from my photobucket account.

That's a very accurate rendering of the colour of that Kryptonite White Owl.

Got a WCSB Queen Cutlery Canoe on board today.

Chris, that looks much nicer in your photo than the retail photos I see online.

My mail carrier delivered this Peanut today, and I put it right to work. First job, slicing olives and peppers to spice up a $0.98 frozen pizza for lunch.

Nice! This makes me wonder what percentage of all Case Peanuts sold annually are sold to bladeforums members...

It's my first peanut, and I blame the good folks of this forum for getting it in my pocket!

i think the powers that be are invested in making sure this number never sees the light of day
otherwise Case may have to pay Carl some sort of commission :P

Mine poor knives don't get nearly as interesting jobs, but here are two and there respective "places" from day to day.

My Trapper (currently out for repair :o)

Sorry not much actual action, but the knife did do all the cutting for those boxes.

And then the the more common inhabitant of my pocket

Blade_Crazy, computer work is pretty interesting. It seems the #1 and #2 duties for our knives are fruit duty and box-breaking-downing. (?)

Today, I named my cheese, "parrot."

Here's my knife cutting up some parrot:

This is solely from the morning's work on an apple, or as I liked to call it, "sika."

I just used the peanut to spear the cherries out of my Manhattan. I use Polish sour cherries, not Maraschino (sp?) cherries. By the way, this one was crafted with Jim Beam Rye whiskey, Gallo Sweet Vermouth, and a couple of the aforementioned sour cherries and a bit of their syrup. :)

The other knives were not put there for the photo. I keep a pile of them on my end table on my end of the couch to play with while I watch TV. The Spyderco Smallfly is by far the most fun to play with, but not as practical as the folders in actual use. ;)

I'm pretty new here but I figured this would be a good thread to start contributing to this fine community! Here's a pic of my thin Opinel I used to prepare some chicken & rice soup:
