NOOOOO! I saw the post and was looking forward to seeing more photos from festerfromnzed but bandwidth was exceeded! That shows you how many people are enjoying your photos!

You're quick with a camera to take a photo and get a shot off. Stew photos tomorrow?
Exactly what my ex gf said!!......in the previous pics of our camp, theres a piece of it on the bucket.....the best venison comes off SIKA...the fat is marbled through it...........FES

I'm pretty new here but I figured this would be a good thread to start contributing to this fine community! Here's a pic of my thin Opinel I used to prepare some chicken & rice soup:

And the final product:

The heck with the knife - what's the recipe for the soup?

FF, I'm gonna guess you didn't get this one with a 22., right?
Seriously though, what cal did this fellow in?

FF, you are my hero. :D
Sounds like you have an awesome day, everyday, keep posting these hunting/knife pics, I love seeing them.

I have posted these pics before..This is the largest SAMBA stag i have got (506 pound gutted)...i know its not a traditional knife, but there were some very traditional swear words carrying this one out....in quarters.....................FES

That is crazy, we get some good sized whitetails in Pa, but we would need a pickup truck full to get that much meat.
Beautiful animal, I love the thrill of the hunt and hunting one of those would get me started so quick it wouldn't be funny.

Thanks for the pics.

jump on a plane...i,ll spin your wheels for ya!!..............Hunting and food gathering (and using knives of course)are a huge part of our lives. We feed lots of hungry mouths all year round.....Thank you for the kind comments........FES

That's a huge joint of venison! Do you need to hang it for a while before eating?

I don't hunt, but I don't say no to the results.:D

All my knife did was despatch fruit today, all tastes are good though.

Huh. You learn something new every day. Thanks bud.

Sure thing LKJW...firstly,they skin very easily...a little cut up the breastbone and peel em like an orange.....secondly..we dont hunt them so to speak,we just shoot them whenever we see them. They are an import from Australia as are the Harrier hawks that i also enjoy eradicating...The parrots fly in packs, they never build their own nests. They fly from tree to tree in force, staunch out the parents, then throw babies (native) and eggs from nest...I have witnissed this many times, hence why they are on the (hit list).......Because they fly in numbers, and do their dirty work in a matter of seconds, they are quite hard to get with a .22....my friends wife wanted to eat this one...........FES

Where else can find pictures of quartered Samba juxtaposed with images of domesticated fruit being sliced?

I love this thread.

Beautiful picture, Toasty-- your knife looks even better in action. :-)
