knives used by the red army at stalingrad.

As for the cruel treatment of Russian prisoners in Germany, the Russians treated German prisoners quite as bad, if not worse. Only 6,000 of the 91,000 German prisoners of war who surrendered in Stalingrad survived captivity.

i hate to dissapoint you, but i guess being an american you may not no this , but no, the russians , didnt treat the germans very badly.
they treated the lithuanians, latvians and such cruly , but not sadisticly, normaly they were hsot or sent to do forced labor in yakutia or other isolated areas, the germans , if they were a normall conscript were normaly aofforede a . fair but harsh exsistance, the ss and other legion groups and such were normaly not treated so well being quite frankly murderers many times being disposed of.

many german solidrs survived the captivity of the russians, even thoguh for the most par they had been caught after they had treated the russian popuation in a most evil manner,

the russian soliders captured only afew survived, mostly they were worked to death, or on many occasion not even worked but penned put and starved or used for various tests . ,, in osme camps only 5% of the original population survived, and i think there wa snone that reached more than 20 or 30% ..

i spoken to germsn who were in soviet captivity and reliatives who were, and i have met several russians who were in german camps, and the russians seemed to be the ones with the horrid tails......

ah as to knives , i understand there was several pukko style knive sissued to various soviet unites in ww2 aswell as the zik scout knife, and also common was a scandinavian style hunting knife with a cross guard .somethign like a screw on pommel but a mortised tang, and a long thin blade with a fuller in it,

there was one or two pocket knvies issued also, but i think very uncommon, .
