Knives You Hate!!

I hate the Loveless style Drop Point Hunter that I have been drooling over...It is causing me to think irrationally about how to fund it and taking much of my time with obsessive thought. Damned Knife!

Hate is a strong word.

I don't care for knives that are over engineered.

I prefer knives that are clean and basic.

hate is a strong word... but i do hate cheap knock offs. I also really dislike a lot of the knives that are supposed to be designed by "experts" that are nothing more than gimmicks with so many things on them that it takes away from the utility.

P.S. anything by mantis and dark ops that i've seen so far also fall into the dislike category

I don't like spyderco save the vallotin sub hilt. Most of the current gerber gunk hits me wrong too

I absolutely hate the Grimsmo Norseman. It has a lot going for it, except that tip... Oh boy, does that think look...how do I say it..."special Ed"...

Sorry, I'm sure it's an amazing knife, but holy s**t is that tip ugly! If it came with different grinds, I'd definitely have one though. John seems like a great guy too, and really seems to have a passion for his work.

And anything that is stupidly thick and clunky. Like Medford, Direware, etc... Everyone has their own taste though, I just think the whole "folding boulder" thing is pretty ridiculous.

I agree. John and Eric seem like awesome brothers, as well as excellent craftsmen. However, the blade on their signature knife is hideous! lol
I will say that I wish I had a Norseman and they do appear to be of quality, especially after watching how they are made via John's YouTube channel, but I would never pay $500+ for something I don't find attractive.

I hate Jeremy Robertson and the El Patron for not being able to give me one reason to put something else in my pocket for even one day.......
No Christmas card for Jeremy EVER.....!

Any "pretender" knife. These typically have celebrity names attached, and often use the word "Ultimate" in the description somewhere. Whether it's for $20 or $1,000, don't pretend to be something you're not.

I hate almost all zt and all emerson, but the best it's their collaboration..... it's something horrifying (personal tastes).... i also don't like tanto blade.... or a too much tactical blade, because in my opinion it's pretty useless!!!!

Awesome post and agree with it all.:D;)

While I find the sharpened folding prybar knife fad entertaining (also own a few of em) it seems counter intuitive to what a knife actually needs to do well which is cut stuff... YMMV. ;):p

I've never liked the wirejack style knives made by different manufacturers. That's one that I won't pay money for.

Only knives I hate are fakes sold as being a real hinderer or sebenza etc. I do dislike a few designs ,but I respect the community enough to know what I may think is the ugliest useless knife may be the next posters grail...

That is about as perfect of an answer as you can get to a question like this.....

Thanks.

Don't know if I hate....but strongly dislike thick knives, blade stock and handle. And this from a guy that used to list the zt 200 and 300 as some of my favorite knives. But in real world use and carry, why am I dealing with all the extra bulk if I don't need to? And thinner stock just slides through cuts instead of being forced through it.
Took a few years to change my mind I will admit.

+1
I can't put it any better than that.
