Blades with big sawtooth spines don't do anything for me. Just a personal thing.
I really hate it when they don't work, but some do work a little.
It is really irritating when a working sawback design, from a proven maker such as Lile, is inconsistent about dipping the front of the teeths: Even Lile will dip them or not dip them, and when undipped the saw is utterly useless... Wall, Lile, ACK and Voorhis are either inconsistent about dipping them, or consistent in
not dipping them.
I like to have them because even if the saw works only a little, that is still more than a smooth back which does nothing...
Knives I won't buy:
-Any non-dagger fixed blade under 9"
-Any dagger under 6.5" and over 10 ounces.
-Anything without a sizeable double guard: No real valid reason for this, other than I like a retention strap opposite the edge.
-Usually nothing that is in carbon steel.
-Any NEW folding knife: I would only buy 20 year old designs I already know. Somehow I can't thing of owning anything other than older CRKT designs and the Spyderco Civilian, and I only have the Civilian...
