Knives you WON'T own anytime soon.

Anything Chinese, anything with a liner lock, anything with a 'coated' blade, anything that carries a 'name' like The Avenger, or other such mall ninja bullshit.

Anything serrated.

Anything that is obviously not designed to actually cut. That means any knife with a wierd shaped blade, that is going to be impossible to sharpen.

Anything that comes with a video that explains how "BAD" it is.

Anything that needs a "instruction manual"

Anything that is tagged "Fantasy knife" If I want a fantasy I will ask my Wife to stop shopping for s**t we don't need.

A novelty knife with Roy Rogers, or some other cowboy star on the scales. And I'm a Roy Rogers fan. they're hawking them on Ebay like they're worth they're asking for them. No Way. However, I would take an Elvis Presley Barlow. :D

I hate to say Gerber, I used to love that brand. But the quality of the pieces I've bought in the last 2 years has been PATHETIC. Duller than water right out of the box. And although I can't remember the name of the model, I bought a linerlock from them last fall that not only was dull, but had lock failure under my thumb pressure! Guess it was lucky the blade was so dull.

I own several Cold Steel knives, and carry one daily. The AUS8A steel retains an edge great, and is easily touched up with my Lansky. I also like Spyderco for daily carry.

G10 Cara Cara. Can't buy a new one at the moment and I've requested them multiple times in the exchange and have never had anyone offer me one for anything. It's a conspiracy.

-anything with a blade over 3"
-anything with a fixed blade
-anything tactical
-anything without bolsters
-anything that isn't VG-10 steel
-anything sabre ground
-anything without a hole in the blade
-anything in FRN
-anything over $200
-anything tanto-esque
-anything else I don't like

china. pakistan, and any fantasy knives, or fakes. fakes should be treated like horsethieves!! custom knives are surely nice, but i love antique knives!!

Fantasy knives
Serrated blades
Linerlock folders
Folders with bad ass names
Folders over 5" long
Steel handled knives/folders. Too slippery for me

Some peculiar Russian designs, which only the Russians can appreciate.

Incredible Pakistani workmanship never fails to continually impress the curious

And lastly, cheap Chinese knives which are far to numerous to list.
But I bet, you must have owned at least one somewhere, at one time or another!

Strider
busse
Ranger etc
Hell i prefer european knives any day, except spyderco they are priceworthy even here.

I hate cheep knives!!!!!
And have moved out of the production lower end for the most part (sick of pivots and locks failing)
Liner locks can go the way of the DoDo!
I like sharpened pry bars (not that I abuse a $300.00+ knife but if my life depends on it I want a knife that will chip trough a wall or roof for escape) think about all the people trapped in their attics after Catrina. I could rip through ply wood and shingles with my sharpened pry bar and come rescue all the small string cutting knife carriers out there LOL.

A few of my no-nos:

Assisted opening is ridiculous (what, a BM710 isn't fast enough for you?)
Gill Hibben's knives are for goobers
Don't want anything United Cutlery makes
Those stupid Harley Davidson knives
Dork Ops Power-Ranger knives
The goober-iffic new SOG giant logo garbage
Any more Kershaws (I have several and they all stink)
Any of the knives from the "Rambo" movies
Any more Cold Steel. I used to be a huge fan but my eyes have been opened in a big way.
Any more CRKT. For what I paid for them, every one of them I have is a steaming load of crap.
A Sebenza (for all of the reasons listed by the gentlemen above)

Oh my God, I just looked at: http://knives.at/images/3k.jpg (posted by girlymann above) What is that thing? An engraved balisong shovel? An OTF melon baller? What the hell's going on with the Russians? No wonder they lost the Cold War. If somebody came at me with one of those things I would die.. of laughter.

They can't appreciate em either… Think it as a Strider-Hibben collaboratrion :p

Ohhh ya. Anything that makes a "Mall Ninja" piddle himself, I want to have nothing to do with:D

I just have to say that i have nothing against armerican knives, you have really good custom knives and the best production knives availble. But overseas the price of a srk for example is almost the same as a fällkniven.
Dont mess with a finnish guy, hes always caring a puuko, old swedish saying,

Gil Hibben knives, except maybe his throwing knives
Anything and everything from China, Taiwan, Pakistan, et al. . . .
Anything that costs over $100 for fixed blade, and $50 for folder. . . .

I am sure there is more, but thats my screening process to even consider most knives.

Definitely some very interesting opinions, especially on the crk, busse, & strider, cannot fault any opinions ive seen.i have a classic micarta sebenza,& as nice as it is, i dont think it was worth 425.00.as good as busse & strider is, i dont like the styles of the strider, & have little need to spend the $ for a fixed blade like the busse.......
