Knocking off the Shine 30 Day Challenge

Day Two:

Tilly, after slicing six d'anjou pears and quartering a lemon for pear and walnut crepe filling.

I'm debating doing a light forced patina on this, it's only been two days but I noticed two specks of pepper on the blade and spine. Hmm I'll think it over. Maybe I'll just go slice up a couple apples and call it good

One very important job, at least important to my 4 year old, is opening up the otterpops. 🤣

Day three finds me once again lamenting that when I am directly trying to find reasons to carry a knife to test and use I end up having nothing but silly things like searching myself for strings, offering to cut open someone's snack from the vending machine, or slicing off the paper towel in the men's room instead of tearing it which of course the guy standing behind me thinks I'm clearly some special kind of nuts now. Could be right. Definitely maybe.

H Honest_Thomas Nice candidate that. I have the same excuse re. birthday ;) but poverty stricken after new incomers  plus I don't allow non knife friends to give me knives...you never know what their good intentions might come up with....🤣

Won't take part in this thread myself as I'm happy with the balance between users and 'exhibits' in my hoard, but look forward to others' contributions :)
🤣🤣 I keep my birthday fairly private so there’s no worries there. However that has done nothing to deter those “good intentions”, my workshop is full of unsightly “well you’re into knives” gifts..
I actually acquired my first ‘exhibit’ knife along with the beaver tail 39.. a rather special to me 15 Rope Knife😏

Anyway… day 3

Another day gone and done. Fair amount of use today. Slicing up fruit for a smoothie, slicing up a couple chickfila sandwiches for my kid and wife. Used it to slice the thread holding the band on my hat so I could replace it. I should have taken a picture of the whole handle covered in chickfila sauce when I set it right down in a big puddle of it 🤣
Does that count as abuse? Probably voided thr warranty with that one...🤣

Day 4 finds me slicing open the frozen burrito package to nuke up lunch. Go figure when you are trying hard to find uses for a knife it's the Sahara desert of available knife things. I'll probably find myself using it as a letter opener on junk mail this afternoon.

Few more pictures from today, here it is with another hobby I like to dabble in. This one's a C harp that I have in the car. I usually like a G harp, but I just picked this one up so I'm play it now. Note this picture is in the car... I play in the car a lot at the request of....well everyone... maybe that says something about my talent...or lack there of 🤣

Picture of the bad coffee from today. I've noticed a lot of place have swapped over to pods rather than drip. Which I suppose means you don't have to leave a pot on all day.

I’ve “had” to force a patina on the beaver, I find it settles in better over the long run.

I’m saving it for the first canoe outing of the year Will! Rusting will be inevitable!! 🤣
