The knife was beautiful, and the award was well deserved, Ken!

Nettie and I returned late last night after a delayed flight and long drive back(airport to home)and just now have had a chance to log in. A big THANKS to everyone for the congrats! I very much appreciate them. We had a wonderful time at Blade this year, meeting new folks, putting faces to names, and strengthening friendships. Winning this award was icing on the cake.

Thanks again! :D

CONGRATS TO YOU KEN! Great Job!

(Now can you explain all the little things and their uses for me please.) I know a bit about shoeing a house. I see the scraper and hook and pick(s) But what's the corkscrew piece for?

I'm very glad I got to talk with Ken and also handle this amazing knife before Bastid carted it off to be judged.

The only next possible tribute to Ken and this Horsemans knife will be from the owner as he pulls out a stone from his horse's hoof, and then punches a new hole in the leather 'rigging', and cuts up some salami, cuts down some brush or small branches and then opens up a bottle of wine to celebrate and bleeds his horse for old times sake, for not only is this knife a work of art but i'm sure it is also an exceptionally fine working tool.

My table was just behind Kens' for the past couple of years and when nothing is going on...I talk to Ken and pick his brain. Besides fantastic knife building...Ken is the type of person I am very proud to know and speak with. Kens' knives cannot be outdone nor can he.

I didn't get to the show until yesterday mid morning, and found Mr. Erickson's table not long before the show was over. I found it by seeing some great knives and drooling over them, before I realized that Mr. Erickson himself was the one I was talking to.

I was amazed by the knife and looking at it when he said, almost under his breath, that it won the award. Even though I'm pretty unsophisticated when it comes to custom knives, he was nice enough to take plenty of time to talk to me and answer some pretty basic questions.

It was a pleasure to meet you , Mr. Erickson, and that rascal certainly deserved the prize!

I also had the pleasure to meet Ken at my first blade show. That knife, along with the others he had on display, were beautiful. Ken was very open to questions and he treated me like a old friend. One day I will make it a point to have one of his knives.

Thank you Ken and keep up the good work!

I was fortunate to see this knife from start to finish. Many hours were spent by Ken,fitting the knife, changing scales, milling the oil can, milling and inlaying the display etc.Never knew what was comming next. Ken made a real package here. Congrats Ken
