KW Exclusive Military CF/Ti S90V + CQI Improvements

That looks great! Gonna have to pick up some PCB etching solution and dip every single one of my satin clips. Not a fan of shiny.

Clip PCB dipped for 15 minutes...

Looks great!

Radioshack PCB etchant solution is what you use to etch logos into a coated blade. I tie a string through the top clip hole, and submerge it into the solution for about 15-20 minutes. When you see a knife that's been "acid washed", it's been dipped into this etchant solution and then stonewashed.

What it looks like with a little wear to it

This new KW exclusive may be the new fave. Got it today and it is sick. Very refined. The champfer on the titanium is not sharp. It almost feels like its had Busse meltdown treatment. Even the edge on the spidey hole is softened. The blade flies through paper and shaves hair. Its a toothy sharp compared to the 204P which is a super keen edge. The peel ply CF has a nice grip to it and the over all weight is noticeably lighter than the full Ti version. The action on mine is stiff but smooth. It should wear in nicely. There is no blade play in any direction and the lock up is right at 50%.

I forgot to mention that the texture on the Ti side is slightly more smooth than my regular Ti millie

And for those that wondered...

Since the S90V would shave, but felt a little rough doing so, I spent about 10 minutes stropping the edge when I got home. I couldnd see it, but could definitely feel a burr on the lock side of my edge. I worked both sides of the edge on green compound and then bare leather (on a rough side out leather stroppe that I made) until I couldnt feel the burr. Took the edge to my arm to test it and you could hear each hair pop as the edge made contact. This joker shaves like a Mach 3 razor now. The difference in sharpness is noticeable.

This is a good thing because it means that the S90v will respond well to a stroppe and as long as I dont let the edge get to the point where it needs a reprofile, a high level of sharpness should be easy to maintain.

Exquisite photos Don (as always)

Also, not bad transit times from U.S. to yours!

Also thumbs up for Icky's, above ^

I've been enjoying mine too a lot too. It's a beautiful knife and the changes from my other Millie are interesting.

Responded very nicely to the strop and is screaming sharp. I was a little nervous with it- the only other knife I have in s90v is the Sprig and I struggle with sharpening it.

They did an excellent job cutting the edges in from all the pics i've seen. They all look clean & even.

The PCB finish on the clip is holding up pretty well for what it is. To say that I'm extremely pleased with this Millie, is an understatement!
