Large folder vote thread.

Handle: CF
Blade: Trailing Point
Grinds: Full Flat
Size: As big as possible/practical
Lock: Lockback

here we go...

handle: G10 (grippy, tough, rigid and not too expensive compared to carbon fiber)

blade shape: bowie with slight recurve (more cutting ability, balance weight slighty blade-ward to add some light chopping capability, versatility of a large folder) imagine something a bit innovative like a cross between a chinook and a boa ;)

grind: full flat (to keep it a good slicer, easier for maintenance on a large blade)

blade size: no bigger than 5", over such size, you can't overcome the use of heavy assembly with dual steel liners+back spacers to keep the whole from becoming flexible (personaly, I'd prefer to use a fixed blade beyond this size...)

Lock: front lock

Thank you Carlos,

I would love to see an identical enlarged copy of the Persian that is new today. This is a real, new, fresh direction that says Spyderco all over it. I have only seen pictures but ordered one for me, my dad, and son. Wifey is going to kill me - again, and again, and again.

What a magnificently clean, powerfully lined knife. I will retire my CS Scimitars to the Collection Box. Who designed this one?

:D :D :D :

Micarta
Clip point
Flat grind
4.5"-5"
Ball-Lock

A supesized Native would also do mighty fine.

Hope something comes of this.

Me too both on the specs Architect posted and sentiment.

Well there seems to be enough interest that we're playing with designs. Once we're satisfied that we have a design that offers enough to create interest, then we'll look closer at materials and locks.

I really appreciate the input, it seems foolish to create a design that would have no interest.

Well, we can't wait.

Though, there's the Chinook II, Spyderfly, and Yojimbo to be bought first and there's everyone who missed the first go-round of the ATR, too.

YESSSS!!! I just hope that, when you're done, it will remain over 5" in blade length and, hopefully, over 5.5".
